Just had a call from the wife to say the family bus (Alhambra TDi) has just dies big style.

Suddenly lost all power + electrics. Managed to coast into pub car park with no power steering or assisted brakes. All readouts ie. odometer, trip computer have zeroed and nothing when she tries the key.

Green Flag have just arrived so we'll see what they say.

In the meanwhile whats the PH view?

Green flag turned up tried to jump start it but wouldn't fire up. Seems they can't be arsed to look further into it so are towing it home. Not much help.

Ok, sorry for delay.

Local garage recommended by a mate came out sat am and it started on his battery pack thingy.

He offered to take it on his truck to check it over and it needs a service and new rear brakes anyway.

He rang me sat pm to say it died again after starting. He checked the tank .... and its got petrol in it!

Asked my wife if she had visited a garage before it broke down she said yes, put £20 in drove out the garage and it dies less than 100yds down the road.

So garage is going to drain the tank fit a new fuel filter put 20l of diesel in it and hope it hasn't done any damage. Mechanic is confident as it didn't run for very long and only had about 5l in it when wife put petrol in.

Getting parts today plus sorting brakes and giving it an oil service. Also fitting new battery as its the original (03 reg.) and its knackered.

So thanks for all replies. Still can't work out why odometer zeroed itself.
