So last year the keyfob broke. Not a great issue, as I could open the car with the key in the door. However lately the locks have been getting stiffer and generally harder to open, and now they just wont work at all.

If I want to lock the bloody thing, I have to loCk it from the inside and crawl out of the boot! Not very elegant.

The manual isn't very helpful when it comes to new keys either.

Has anyone ever had to order a new set of keys from a manufacturer? I've emailed peugeot regarding the issue, but I've not had a response. I'm considering going to a main dealer and ordering new keys but it would probably be cheaper to have the car stolen and then buy a new one.

I would post on the 406 oc but there seems to be limited activity there. They are probably all doing the taxi rounds at the moment.

Any advice would be nice please

Will check halfrauds for graphite lube tonight then, cheers.

Will try to not get it mixed up with other types of lube, bad things could happen.

Halfords do summat called mech oil, which I used to tremendous effect. It also worked on stiff locks on my mondeo - they were so stiff I thought the door was gonna smash off when I tried to turn the key with all my might!
Legend. Thanks mate
