Garlick's musing on modern specifications and the amount of options reminded me of one of my favourite time killers, which is to spec awful cars using Manufacturers increasingly decent configurators. Couldn't find the old thread, but it's probably time for a new one anyway. So:

A 316d ES in beige with beige and the lowliest of rims, run-flats and non adjustable M suspension, with a lot of options for just.

£44,750

Your turn!

Some nice work, that Passat is a definite highlight.

There ya go.

Costs a grand total of £8,900.00, £425 for the sexy green, I decided against the £400 for air conditioning.
What size rims are they!? Pretty sure my desk chair is running on bigger. hehe

Saving the planet is expensive:

£38,045

And there weren't many options to choose.

so is the purpose to spec the worst car possible a'la the 116d upto 40k or just to make the most unholy creation known to man like that pink intaked veyron?
Either's good. Variety, spice and such....

Not so much of the look at foreign taxes thing. UK prices only makes much more sense.

Luxor beige instrument dials for only £401!? They'll go lovely with the Yachting mahogany steering wheel and interior package at £2651.

My £90,566 Cayenne Diesel.

I can't wait to see how jealous everyone is when I collect it at the factory (another £1500).

Worst value for money perhaps? whistle

Wow.

Oh and for those of you adding accessories, I feel I should make a rule that you can only have one of each type, so not 6 different sizes of roof box.

Here's a 520i SE manual (the pick of the range, I'm sure) at just £58,360:

Had to try out the new A3. A 1.8TFSI S Tronic Sport. Sounds lovely.

Most of the options, but no nav because I would have lost the wonderfully 80s control panel thing off the dash and it seemed a little frivolous and at £36,060, I was already £60 over my budget for such a motor.

Mazda's website needs to say "See what PistonHeads have to say about the MX5"

This Mercedes bus thing is fun, I made a fun coach.

That looks rather smart. Like the appropriate backgrounds for the different types of bus. BMW should do one so you can see what a 1-series will look like outside M&S.

I asked (in a BMW thread) whether this colour & seat combo was acceptable, or in hindsight whether it belonged in this thread:

...as I find myself curiously drawn to ordering it.

Looks decent to me, I'd take the red interior with Valencia orange though, personally.
