About an hour ago I heard the bang of a car crash followed by a lot of revs and the sound of a car driving up the road.

I went out to see my neighbours milling about, a black Focus sitting oddly with one wheel on the kerb and my car (Mk1 Seat Leon Cupra-R) with its indicator repeater hanging out and one of the bumper grilles on the tarmac, a graze to the face of an alloy wheel and the front bumper about half an inch out of place.

It seems that someone driving an I think it was a silver Golf - quote neighbour has driven up the road and for whatever reason has decided that the conventional driving method, avoiding parked cars, is all a bit of a fag so has grazed my front wing on the way to heavily modifying one corner of number nine's Focus. Their car looks fked at first sight. The front wing [our cars were parked nose to nose] is torn back, the wheel is pulled back out of shape, the front crash bar has done its job and the bonnet's had it. It's still got all the windows in it though so it can't be completely twisted and knackered.

Once our possibly-a-silver-Golf driver had finished crunching the Ford he/she decided not to hang about to discuss driving tips and has evaporated into the night in the direction of Townhill, Swansea.

I probably won't bother claiming unless it turns out the suspension on my car's bent. The repeater and bumper grille popped straight back in. I only just took out a new policy at lunchtime today and the excess is £320. I've got ten years NCB which I don't want to lose either.

My money is on a drunk driver, same as the E36 Coupe driver who rear-ended a parked Volvo 740 a few months ago then left his car on the pavement while he wandered off to the local Tesco Express where the police found him.

Yeah, nice idea with the car parts but I'm not about to turn amateur sleuth.

I do wish people would stop crashing their cars into other cars outside my house though and I'm not even sure why it happens. The road has streetlights, it's not even on a bend, there are no junctions nearby and the Focus hit this time was right in the middle of a row of other cars.

One of the neighbours has suggested a couple of times that it might be intentional. I think his dark theories are mainly based around his conviction that another neighbour is a heroin dealer, though whether this is true or not I have no idea, and why this would prompt drivers to smash into stationary vehicles nearby I don't fully understand yet.
