Evening,

The long and short of my 'problem' is that I've been driving my joint owned track prepp'd MR2 around for the last week or so, I jumped back in the 330i today and it felt so un inspiring (to me). Obviously these cars are opposite ends of the scale in terms of .... well everything, four door four seat comfy lazy cruiser with a sporty twist compared to a loud rattly fun constant smile enducing envolving yellow thing that never stops being "sporty".

So my quest is something that's a half way step between them, I mean obviously I don't want to commute every day in a stripped and caged car like my Volvo hence the criteria being a half way house ordeal.

My thoughts so far...

-Easy Finance on a GT86 over 36months with garantee'd buy back
- Ep3 Civic type r and various mod's maybe even a supercharger (but it's FWD which apparently is for the feeble and weak)

-Revamp the 330i with various suspension work

-MX5 and do something silly like S/C or Turbo / buy one that's already has this done but still fully road trimmed.

-MK1 Focus RS is an option to which I rather like (FWD for the Feeble apparantly wink )

The twist (problem with the GT86) is that yes it has a 5 year warranty etc but would I really want to say hey thet's go to Spa and sling it around the track with 25Kish infront of me.... whereas the 330i/Ep3 etc has much less mechanical / financial meaning to me, that isn't to say I don't care and therefore drive like an idiot... it's more of a phycological drain of fun for me.

The thought of buying an MX5 / 944 and keeping that a sport drive now and again but then I've got the MR2 for that so it has to have the power the 330 has with more fun and smile factor if that makes sense.

Anyone got any other ideas ?

P.s I can't insure ///M car's or Jap turbo stuff until I'm 21 frown

In my opinion you're going about this the wrong way. Expecting one car to do it all is like going to work in a wetsuit. Get an impractical performance car and a barge for wafting!
I think you've slid the point.

I'm not looking for everything in one car just abit more fun less sensible and more involving.

If I want stripped fun I have the 2' but would prefer a little of that fun in the daily. Let me put it like this the BM does everything. but everything ok. I'd prefer a car to do less things ok and more worse aslong as it does other things really well.

I think that made sense.

Going to try and test drive an EP3 tomorrow.

The 1 car at work idear is a good one but not the answer as it would mean perminent insurance on 2 cars opposed to one.
