Upon leaving the meet today a guy in a mustang crashed it.

However, he could have hit the crowd but the strange thing is upon crashing the passenger allegedly started punching the driver. They then allegedly got out and did a runner!!

Some chaps at the scene said that the passenger was actually the cars owner and the driver was uninsured hence doing the runner!!

Anyone have any pics of this??

How embarrasing for them both!

Does look a strange way to crash, hardly looks like he was going so fast or wheelspinning etc.

Unlucky really.

There will be jokes about yank cars handling now, that does look worrying!

Sounds like he wasnt massively on the throttle, a bit unfair if he gets done for dangerous or careless driving imho. Looks like a straightforward accident.

Shame the vid didnt stay on longer.

This isnt a sarcastic comment but could it have been a live rear axle that caused it, ie would a porsche have not acted in the same way?

Feel a bit sorry for the driver now.

As stated above, must be a combo of the DRL heading towards, the police car, dust, non-winter tyres and any other related thing that can be blamed to avoid being labelled a douchebag.

I bet the bloke driving is hidden under a duvet right now repeating 'why me' over and over!
Theres a lot of people saying hes stupid but a lot of owners of nice cars may accelerate a bit quicker than average once in a blue moon and it could have happened to others.

I think hes a bit unlucky really.

Unlucky is circumstances conspiring against you.

What we saw was a dry road with good visibility and a driver who apparently can't cope with straight lines.
True, its not the brightest thing to do, but im sure most on here have accelerated harder than that at least a couple of times in their life.

I think hes unlucky but its the bit about doing the runner that interests me.

Look at the road on pretty much any chevrons and there will be dust/grit, similar to the rubber marbles on a race track off the racing line.

Just noticed this comment on youtube which says the same

Absolutely gutted. I know the owner (he wasn't driving, someone else was), everyone is ok. Had to pull into the centre of the road to avoid the (illegally parked) police van, and the driver lost it on the gravel and stuff in the centre of the road. Cold tyres, raw power, swerving and loose surface. Probable write-off frown
Was the police van illegally parked? Can the police park illegally?

Wheedler, please stop insulting people.

This thread was started for a friendly discussion amongst like minded people. Similar to why specialist cars of malton set up their breakfast meets.

Then people come along, do silly things and ruin it for the genuine people.

Please all stop throwing insults around, a mod has warned you all already.
