Miss Firing KA - Arcing HT Lead
Discussion
My station wagon had an arcing HT lead near the lambda sensor causing it to miss fire. The Engine warning light is now on (Yellow)
Now i have moved the HT lead and taped it up but the engine warning light is still on. Do i need to wipe the current warning code or do i need to replace the lambda sensor?
Its my station wagon AKA money pit at the moment so could do with the cheapest option
2 months ago - full service = £180
3 weeks ago miss firing = HT LEADS = £20
2 weeks ago Thermostat gone, not knowing that i replaced the heater control valve hoping to fix it, it didnt.
Heater control valve = £10
Thermostat and header tank = £144
Thanks

Is it a Ka? Just I read "station wagon" and picture a huge estate car!
Try unplugging the battery for a while, I believe this resets the ECU and would hopefully clear the fault code.
It is a KA and if you saw how messy it was you would think its a wagon Try unplugging the battery for a while, I believe this resets the ECU and would hopefully clear the fault code.
Thanks, i will give that a go!

One of the HT leads was on the metal plate and had melted it slightly, looks like it had come away from the cable claw it was held in place by.
Because of this, the arcing HT lead was stopping a sparkplug from lighting. Solved the miss fire.
Havent taken the battery out yet, will do tomorrow
Thanks for the replies!
