Gigi Galli onboard: Time For Tea?

Yes, it's another onboard rallying clip, but this one is slightly different to that rather hairy Ari Vatanen vid. This is from the San Marino Rally Legends event, where the emphasis appears more on creating show for the hoards of fans than outright speed.

So who better to provide some gratuitous oversteer than Gigi Galli, rally drift extraordinaire? Here he's driving a Focus WRC and slithering around at night, during the day, on tarmac and in the forest. The car only appears to be going straight when he's braking. Watch too for some expert dabs of oppo when the camera faces the flamboyant Italian.

The San Marino event seems perfectly suited to Galli's style too, strategic haybales and tricky hairpins forcing the gigantic handbrake into play. Predictably, the crowds are only too keen to see more.

Our favourite section is the ten seconds from 3:50, with car sideways for a good few seconds before a yank on the handbrake forces it in the other direction. Excellent stuff.

plenty of people standing inches from a racing car. . . .isnt this why Group B got banned ?? madness

Awesome control and good to see no one in that guys way or standing on the outside of a corner. . . .i remember the crowds literally used to part as Vatinen and co would fly down the roads. .again another clip will be provided i expect. I like to see cars up close like anyone, especially in competition, but i dont expect the driver/co driver appreciate the challenge.
