[[Garage broken into
Discussion
I am not sure where to put this post (so please bear with) as I am fuming.
My garage was broken into late last night.
I have worked for many years to be able to pay for the garage and contents therein.
Whoever broke in decided to damage the right hand door (see photo) and I assume crawl in (how, God knows) then open the door a few feet with the button on the wall.
Anyhoo, I have checked the cars (no damage), no tools taken (but the tool cupboards have been searched).
Chainsaws, mowers, drills etc all where they were left. Even the Tom Tom Sat Nav in one of the cars (on the windscreen) is still in situ.
Very, very strange that someone would go to some trouble to cut through the door, force the panel, gain entry and not take a single thing.

Trade Lottie for a Rottie?
(Seriously, I'm annoyed for you, I know how pissed off I'd be)
Maybe get a Rottie friend for Lottie?(Seriously, I'm annoyed for you, I know how pissed off I'd be)
There have been a few break ins locally recently, and I suppose (statistically) it was going to happen one day.
The garage alarm did not go off, so something needs to be done about that today and another concern is I need to secure the building for tonight.
A very unpleasant experience to go through.
Scene of Crimes on their way but I do not think they will find anything useful.
Forensics have just left.
1. Intruders came over a 7 foot brick wall and then forced a security light sensor off the wall. Also, they pulled a couple of black pipes from the watering system off the brickwork. Maybe they thought it was some sort of security light cable?
2. They have used gloves to pull back the metal shutter and then opened the door via the control panel on the wall (fingerprint powder confirms).
Will they come back?
Were they looking for the car keys?
So many concerns......................................
I read stories similar to our breakin in our local paper, and think 'what a dreadful thing to experience', and I was right, it makes me feel very sick/violated.
The only security measure missing is security cameras, so that is an easy 'fix' ASAP.
The alarm should have been activated and is it linked to police via "Red Care" with ADT, so that also needs sorting ASAP.
Thank for your comments/support. Much appreciated.
Stay safe.

Wouldn't rule it out. Police should have given advice/guidance? No guidance given so far.

Possibly. Don't forget keyless ignition system/OBD port. This 'event' will not deter me from enjoying my garage, just tainted it for a while, and has made me aware of the security shortfalls we have.
