Cyclist vs Car (again)

I can't quite work how this got to fisticuffs, was the cyclist being an end of bell for shooting up the inside or was the van driver a cock for getting the hump about it? If that's the reason the whole thing went pear shaped of course.

I just can't work out what started the whole thing off, the root cause. Whilst cyclists shooting up the inside can be a mild irritant (I'm talking about 0.1 on a scale of 1-10) it surely doesn't deserve a ram into the kerb and a thud in the chops. Did white van bloke start honking about a phone?

Could it be because that the whole incident was totally avoidable if only the van driver hadn't tried to ram someone off the road and then assaulted them?
