It would be crazy to start again with a different name.

Strada would have to advertise, and make people aware of it's existence. Costs time, and money.

Modern classics is already known, and loved. The customers are already there. Just a quick email to all the previous subscribers and you've instantly got your revenue coming in.
I guess it depends who own the rights for modern classic and also the subscriber list, it didnt sound like bauer sold it?

Also strada is a thing now by the looks of its website.
They're separate publications.

MC is/was a monthly. Strada is planned as a quarterly. I exchange messages with Nathan Chadwick who made it clear Strada wasn't going to be Modern Classics Mk2.

Fair enough, thanks for that, im not sure that there is space in the market for two, I hope there is though! I do miss the magazine car isnt a substitute for my subscription
I completely agree. If I wanted to subscribe to Car I would have done so.

Car primarily focuses on new cars and I'm not interested in them.

It sounded like a quick decision taken under a tight squeeze.

Was probably a better thing than sending us Cross Stitch Monthly or simply not getting our money back!

there's a strong pool of potentially interested readers for a publication concentrating on cars from the 90s to 00s, that are not old enough for the likes of C& SC and CC, which are stuck in their 1960s-1980s time-warp!
Absolutely this. The car magazines that generally interest me cover cars that I can afford and love. Like many I grew up with cars from the 80s, 90s and 00s and there is currently no other title quite fulfils this brief for me.

I had only recently subscribed when the mag folded, so perhaps I was within a cooling off period which is why I got offered a refund - there was (from memory) an online portal for you do it via.

I hope the new venture works out, I keep telling people my Lexus daily driver is a 'modern classic' to make me seem like a connoisseur rather than a cheap skate who can't be bothered buying a newer car biggrin
If I sold all 4 of my cars I could easily afford a new one. However, why on earth would I want to do that?

I love having the choice of cars to drive and just enjoy driving older cars generally. There's a kind of inverted snobbery to it.

All my family drive older cars and none of us are short of a bob or two. My cousin runs a 2008 Mini Cooper S as his daily and lives in a £1.5m house in St Albans. I love that! biggrin
