I know pop and bang threads have been done to death on here, but this is an interesting development, a company fined for a decat and the map which put it over the noise limit and for not advising at the time it was illegal. Many tuners out there fit these, and may fit decats. Maybe a few tuners changing their websites soon..!

OEMs have to take some of the blame on the pop and bang. When I was growing up as a teen in the 90's and max power was in full swing, we had Peco Big bores and the like, but pop and bangs was never a thing on a Nova or Fiesta Xr2. I

Then BMW, Audi, Merc, all added the over fuelling on lift off so your A45's, your RS3s, your M4s and M2s all gargling popping and banging away. Ford did it to their Focus RSvmk3, Hyundai to their i30 and i20ns, Renault on the Meganes and buyers lapped it up. No wonder people said, "i want that for my stbox mr tuner" Granted its been taken to far with the Bruv crowd, but now OEMS are backing away, getting quieter...

Anybody who decats and puts on pops and bangs maps on cars should be fed to the lions at Whipsnade, and those driving the such modified cars can be given as play things to the chimps.
Do these things go past your house a lot?
The chimps and Lions?

I see that AutoExcrement's journalism is up to the usual standard - the headline says "‘pop bang’ aftermarket exhausts" when the issues were the map and the decat.
Also somewhat ironic that the link immediately after the article reads: "Looking to make your car unique? These are the best cars to modify..."
Hahah yeah I did see that link

The map makes the pops and bangs in fairness. But yeah, I cant stand the "here's what it could look like" or "still want that XX?" drivel producers
