Been driving a few decades now and have sampled many auto boxes, some good some bad.

However, I recently drive a non dsg 9 speed auto and what a fking horrible experience.

The gearing is way too short and it js country trying to stay in a higher gear as possible, and runs out of steam way too quickly.

Surely this can’t be good for emissions with it constantly kicking down whenever you press the go pedal?

I am sure I read somewhere there is even a 10 speed?

I mean, why?

Madness.

Absolutely.

I did try manual mode and turning right out of junction in first and having to get to second almost instantly made for entertaining hand shuffling on the steering wheel.

hehe
