so i have good news for any carrera gt owners out there. the clutch which has always been a sore point , im sure some love it but through my experience of driving it i found it hard to live with. anyway i just had a new clutch fitted which is designed by sachs f1 team . this is a must , expensive but it totally transforms the car. also front lifting system was added , i was a bit dubious of adding more weight to the car but definatly worth it . still the most exciting supercar that iv owned

i put a gemballa exhaust system on mine and it is pretty insane .standard cgt is a great sound but this another level plus it breathes better.
this is an arab car with same system

8k for a new clutch on a CGT , thats a bargain surelly . Theres a LHD Gembala parked in my block , it does look good in a revolting sort of way . However , I can hear it from my flat at iddle
The 8k quoted was for the front lifting system I believe not the clutch. The standard clutch costs something like 13k to replace with labour, which is a lot, but they are supposed to last a decent number of miles when not abused.
the clutch , lifters and exhaust were all done at same time so you may be right . alot of money but really worth it

Seem to recall you've owned an F40 in the past (or possibly one of your erm, colleagues), what are modern hypercars like the CGT like compared to the F40?
yeah it was me and i wish i still had it . great car , one of the most exciting to drive . i generally dont like turbo power and the f40 delivers all of it in one go so you have to respect it .i sold it to a friend and a month later he wrote it off . f40 is raw , brakes dont match the cgt of course , the build on the cgt is amazing different level , like the f1.
the f40 was in a way last of that breed , i like those type of cars u can smell the petrol and oil. the 73 carrera rs rep i have is a great car , raw and basic

Fair enough!

I cant remember if you had a Ford GT at one point? I think I'd have to give one of them a go if I was in your shoes. A bit old school and I'd assume nothing like the Carrera GT, but still..
it woud have to be an original gt40 rather than their retro remake . not really a fan of the new american sports cars , love the old ones though

Only just found this thread; H I don't need a new clutch (yet) but if I do I'm interested in the system you have in yours which you seem to imply is more progressive (or maybe I'm reading too much into it). Can you post or pm me details please? Thanks!
Yes mate , i got the work done at gemballa germany ,, usually known for their bizarre bodykits but the clutch is a must for any gt owner , also had lifting system and race pipes fitted aswell .. Mr Gemballa was unfortunatly found dead , shame nice guy . but the company has been bought and they r back in business . they came to pick it up and delivered it , but you would probably prefer tearing down the autobahn option ,
