Ferrari Announces Free Seven-Year Service Deal

Unlimited mileage servicing cover offered by the Prancing Horse

Ferrari has announced an astonishing no-cost servicing deal that covers all the scheduled maintenance for its cars - regardless of mileage - for seven years, something it says is unique in the luxury car segment.

The Ferrari Genuine Maintenance programme covers all new Ferrari California, 458 Italia and FF models and is being offered as standard and at no extra cost. Better still, it 'sticks' to a single car, so is transferrable between owners.

The deal covers all standard maintenance items, as outlined in the service schedule. It's been designed to anticipate one service each year during the seven years, but, as there is no mileage restriction, owners who reach the service intervals by mileage (every 12,500miles) will be able to have their car serviced more than once per year.

The Ferrari Genuine Maintenance programme will be supplied as standard with all Ferrari California, 458 Italia and FF models delivered from 15 March 2011.

Very wise move from Ferrari and I wonder whether this will now prompt other luxury brands to start thinking in a similar way?

Excellent.

At last, Ferrari have recognised the importance of competing with Kia.

All they need to do now is throw in a 7 year warranty to go with the free 7 year service plan.

Kia owners will flock to Ferrari showrooms. Mark my words, Ferrari dealers across the country will be selling plenty of traded in Kia Sedona mini vans.

Wow. Taking a leaf out of Kia's book huh? Who'd a thunk it? hehe

Great idea though, puts a lot of people back in the supercar game potentially, especially in this economic climate.

Routine maintenance isnt particularly expensive though is it (especially now they dont need belt changes).

Its when something goes wrong!

Hope Porsche are watching this.

Will be interesting to see the small print. ie Do you have to get all other work/tyres etc done through the main dealer network.

I must admit to being a little cynical here. I can easily imagine an owner having his 458 serviced, only to receive a call that the car needs new brake discs, a replacement left hand flange grommet and a new flux capacitor, all needed because the car has a higher than normal mileage / is not used enough ( whichever is most appropriate). The parts cost £77,458. Plus VAT.

"And if you don't fit them it will invalidate the warranty - if you drop the car off next week you can have a Fiat Punto courtesy car for the next 10 days while our staff take your car home and drive it around over the weekend".

Too cynical? wink

I bet the customers who bought before 15/03/11 are not happy. No free servicing and now their cars worth less too.

No chance will Porsche change anything. If anything servicing will be more expensive in the coming years and probably reduce their warranty to 1 year. Unless they can charge £1k for their rear wipers wink

Still doesn't make me want a Ferrari, though it must save a fair bit of money

It's not free though when you considering the price difference between a base model 430 and 458. Yes, inflation in the past several years is quite high, but not that high. But at least it's better than nothing.

You are forgetting £/€ fx movement.

Great, now I am a step closer to affording an FF.

Just a small matter of the entry fee to find now.

My thoughts exactly, it would be interesting for someone in the know to look at the small print.
Get the car in for oil and filters and then ream the owners for the other bits and bobs.
Stops the cars moving out to Indies too early as well.

Shrewd move Ferrari!

As a ferrari owner, I think its a great idea, would potentially make me look at a second hand 458 say two / three years old.

Its going to kill 430 values though !!!

The mere suggestion that this was dreamt up by a Ferrari marketing man who has had a "free" brake check at a well know chain who brand themselves as "fitters that work quick," only to find he "needs" new discs and pads, is barking up the wrong tree.

How very dare you?

Am I missing something here?

Oil, plugs, filters......what else is included in what is effectively a basic service?

Cost to Ferrari <£1000.

A good start but i'd prefer Ferrari to engineer their cars to last....!!

So if you did about 10k a year for 7 years in a F360 might cost you
6k £620
6k £620
18k £995
6k £620
6k £620
18k+Cambelt £1395
6k £620
6k £620
18k £995
6k £620
6k £620
18k+Cambelt £1395

7 years and 72k miles you would need a few clutches and a few sets of brakes all round too I would guess, still a £9740 saving but guess that is less than a 5% discount on some of the new cars.
