Hi bryce86
No nothing as yet I'm looking for a club sport really !!
I've looked at the red 1 in mach1 cars and it needs discs and pads all round plus 4 new tyres So roughly £3000 too get the car right
Jzm have got a mint black 1 there but it's not the spec I'm looking for all the opc cars too me seem over priced
When last year Porsche Cambridge offered me a red 09/59 with good spec and buckets with 16k on the clock for £66 this time last year should off had it but the time was right for me how are you getting on finding 1

This car needs discs and tyres? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Prices have certainly taken a shift recently and Im trying to get my head around it. Not sure why they have but Im nervous to jump in if this is just a little bubble.

I too was offered a few cars last year at what now seems great prices but at the time I was set on a GT2 so declined. By the looks of it I should have and had a year of depreciation free motoring.

Im after a car with buckets and it must not be white.

If I was you two guys and you want one of these cars then find a good one and commit (wait for the comments on it's not that easy, it's loads of money etc etc). But 1 year of looking? You could have been driving it, polishing it, looking at it!!

the market is the market. I am lucky enough to have a few cars, like lots of people on here. But if the only reason you cannot commit to a car is because you think they are riding a bubble then you will never buy one, and when you do you will never enjoy it because you will be waiting for the bubble to burst.

Any decent GT3 is not going to lose a lot of money, if any at all. I currently have a Gen 2 RS which I paid in my eyes top money for last year. But I wanted the car, and took a chance. Last week I was offered a lot more than I paid for it ( not that I am selling).

I drove my previous Gen 2 GT3 for a year, 15k miles, and sold it to a dealer for what I paid for it.

Just find a good one, buy it, and enjoy

£66k same time last year. Wow!

Don't think they will drop anytime soon. Only and handful of cars available, no more manual going forward,.....

I nearly bought one about the same time and was looking around the same value - wish I had now as comparable cars are now moving for high 70's
I'm banking on the deliveries of 991 cars putting more 997.2 cars onto the market and subsequently lowering the costs... I hope smile

I reckon if they would offer the 991 GT3 in manual the market would be flooded with old cars!

I agree with you in principle ruebo. As I said this time last year I was looking for a GT2 so wasn't really paying much interest in the 3's but I was watching pricing. I think you've got lucky with yours due to the prices rising. Whether buying now will work the same, who knows..

Problem for me is not the money so much, but more the point of that if I've to pay top dolla for one then it's got to be my perfect spec - and that hasn't appeared yet.

I bought my dream bike like year and paid a lot more than I wanted to but it was the perfect spec and I have no regrets. Numbers wise it was near 20% more than rest but it was "the one".

True Bryce86. My two essentials where ceramics and lift. In the end I bought a car without lift. The good cars are so few and far between I think you will have to compromise, but I hope not.

I paid 67k for my Gen2 at the beginning of last year!

I do agree the prices look like they are high, but with spring around the corner I cannot see them dropping.

Good luck with your search. It will be worth it :-)

I don't think you'll find a car for £70k or less but good luck. I think you're more likely to be successful if you set yourself a realistic budget of £75k for a non-OPC/private sale. Definitely budget an extra £2k for a two year warranty.

I don't think it's a coincidence that older GT3s have firmed up in value despite the 991 GT3 being delivered to customers. Ordinarily you'd expect prices to go down but I firmly believe that the 991 GT3 has created instant classics of the older generation GT3s. I'd rather sell my 991 GT3 than my 997.2 GT3.

The PDK-S is a large part of the 991 GT3 experience. In my opinion, a traditional manual gearbox would not suit the car and it's not going to be offered anyway.

I completely agree and prices will grow stronger as the weather improves. The 997.2 GT3 is a very special car and most definitely worth stretching the budget for. I know it's not cheap but at least right now they're still selling for less than they cost new. It's impossible to tell whether they'll continue to rise or just firm up. If they fall, I don't see them falling far.

+1 for some of the comments above.

FWIW I was waiting so long for a decent 997.2 gt3 to come up I specced up and priced a 991 but even at £60-£70k a 997.2 gt3 was 'cheap' compared to one of those.

Buy now, worry later. One less will actually drive the price up!

yep, still loving it. Harnesses in, Spa booked and a few others for the summer.

I have put on about 1800 miles since buying it off you, so still just under 10k.

I cannot see myself selling it. They are just so different to anything else (and I reckon hugely undervalued at present).

Fancy selling your Green one??
