Coilovers for a 934 replica - JRZ , Moton, Nitron?
Discussion
Hi all - what are the best coilovers in this bracket?
Richard Chamberlain ( CTR Developments) is building me a Porsche 934 Replica with 964 turbo engine/gearbox - we are looking at around 550 BHP, 1150 kiloes - and I want some proper coilovers to attack the ring with.
JRZ, Moton, Nitron - what say you?

Richard replaced my OEM set up a 996 Cup car with a whizzy Penske system that mirrored what he was running on his 935 at the time, including a "third Spring" damper across the front dampers. The car handled very well.
There are a lot of excellent suspension kit makers out there, but it's all about setup and getting the rates/settings sorted. None of the makers above is bad. I ran JRZ on a 993 RS and Nitron on my racing caterham. All good when well setup, but originally the JRZ were dogs due to an appalling setup by a very well known racing outfit.

anyone tried the Ohlins TTX36? at 875 per corner the price seems okay.... the TTX40 and 46 are twice and thrice that!

None of it is great advice, unless you state what you are doing to the chassis and diff.
What year is the tub, strengthening, size of wheels ,tyres etc,if you are pushing 550bhp,and tony and richard is building the engine ,the engine will be all of that.
Xtc will sort correct springs and dampers, once you know all the other details especially weight.
My car is 328bhp and still beats 550 and 600bhp 911,from standing starts and overall runs, alldown to grip, chassis, diff and a proper understanding company who will give you correct springs and dampers/advice.I have used most of the other listed companies over the years!
Have fun with your project, but dont build a pig with 550bhp!

car in question is a 1982 930, stiffened and strengthened - will be running a 964 turbo Gearbox with a rebuilt Porsche Motorsport diff, 40%. tyres will be 10.5 x16 and 12.5 16s as per 934 spec.
Great advice and no surprise that people have nothing but positive things to say about Richard and Tony.
Find me a customer with a bad thing to say about em!
Love Richard!

update - went for a setup from BG Motorsport at Silverstone and working closely together with Richard on this.
Ohlins insert for the front suspension. This will allow us to keep the front of the car on torsion bars. The rear has to be on coil overs and he can do a "cheaper" version of the TTX for this. he is going to send me through the spec of both the front and rear. Price wise it looks like £800 a corner but lets see what the spec says!

Good choice, not necessarily the easiest of companies to work with, but they know their stuff. I had them build a bespoke set up for my Mk1 GT3.
I specified the spring rates, which they told me wouldn't work. But I insisted they use them, and the end results were quite frankly, superb.
