Thats the article I read and it states:
"the 911 GT3 Touring Package will be produced as a regular model on an open-ended basis without a cap in volume"
The GT3 in theory isn't limited by volume...they said something similar when it was launched. I think all that means is that's it's not a limited edition car like the 911R. "the 911 GT3 Touring Package will be produced as a regular model on an open-ended basis without a cap in volume"

Perhaps I'm being dim but it's not exactly clear to me if it is an entirely seperate new model or simply an option package to the gt3 (that despite being an open run model is close impossible to get for 'normal' people so if the touring pack is a hard to get option on a hard to get car what does it make it? )..."the 911 GT3 Touring Package will be produced as a regular model on an open-ended basis without a cap in volume"
Throughout the months of speculation and rumour about this model, it was always pre-supposed that it would be an 'option' on existing GT3 allocations. It's frustrating, but I kind of understand why Porsche needs these limited build halo models.
Hopefully, the recently implied promise of more models that offer a similar driver experience, but at more affordable prices and unlimited production, will appease the real enthusiasts.

Looking at how some of the articles are worded this will not be a limited supply car, if this is true this is excellent news for the true car enthusiast.
It will be interesting to see how easy or difficult it is to get an allocation for one. It's a GT3, so surely the usual GT3 rules apply? The "not limited" comments are just in relation to comparisons with the 911R are they not?GT4RS said:
Great move by porsche, the perfect road car for the people who actually want to drive them rather than treat them as investments.

Most press release say it's an option on the GT3, so you have to have a GT3 allocation if you read it that way.Looking at how some of the articles are worded this will not be a limited supply car, if this is true this is excellent news for the true car enthusiast.
It's very unclear as the GT3 is not a Ltd supply car.

I agree. I hope it's a separate model. It would make sense for them to do it that way and go back to selling as many as they could make.
I think that it what they might well do, but the 991.2 will only be built for so long and they also have to build all the other 911s on the same line, so ...gunner said:
I'm told it will be a regular production model and will be produced,in part,to combat the 'overs' market that limited production cars like the R and the GT3 perpetuate. If that is true then very well done Porsche.
As it's not a true GT3 and does not have PDK, it makes no change to the overs market or the 911R market as that's a very bespoke numbers car.Look at the Sports classic vs the C2 GTS , they are the same car but one is £250k one is £75k
Also a touring spec with no rear seats is an odd move.
