It looks good in gt silver and will be a good barometer of where market is
So where do we reckon it will end up ex fees
Its about 56k already with over 5 days left
Is a car sold at auction (perhaps sight unseen?) a ‘good’ barometer of where the market is, or an indicator of market ‘bottom’? £70k?So where do we reckon it will end up ex fees

It’s a good indicator of what you could get on CC - don’t think it relates too much to retail.
Should be a good indication between trade and retail at the very least. The 997 Gt3 rs failed to sell, be shocked if this one doesn’t sell as it ticks the boxes for many being a sensible mile clubsport.
Lovely looking car - it's the spec and colour I'd have had if I had absolute choice. Mine's pretty much identical but white.

Nomex always looks ratty on a car this age, but just had my wheel, gearstick and handbrake re-trimmed by Linas at Deisgn LS and it looks factory new and for very little money, so that's nothing to be put off buy. Just check ALL the bills and mechanicals.
I'm saying early £70k for this, easy.

It's got a LOT of issues which need attending too hence why imo it's on CC and not up for sale at JZM.Link to the car, for those interested: https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2007-porsche-9...

you could spend £7k plus on that to make it look nice.
not only that it's a tracked car with no oil change for 3 years !! and a missing major service !! (ok they just added it)
I know CC seems to get top money for tatty cars as people only look at the price vs what really needs spending on it.
to me it's not worth a bid above £62k due to all the things which need fixing/doing.
"There are seven previous keepers on the log book, and it has evidently been very well maintained."
er ! not serviced for 3 years !! which I picked up on when it 1st came on , but I see it's now been serviced last week but still a 3 year gap on a car which has seen track work. who are "Hawthorns Engineering Ltd " should have been to Porsche imo as all past history are OPC Porsche, or one of the major 3rd party Porsche people who we all know.
"The bodywork remains in superb order all around the car"
er ! paint lacquer peeling off in 3 places !
" Its original 19-inch alloy wheels have some small scuffs around the rims, and a few chips in the silver paint"
er !! they need a full refurb.
"There is slight wear to the steering wheel, and a very small hole in the Nomex on the right-hand side of the driver’s seat"
er there a hole in it !!
it's talked up in the add but look at the pictures !! plus other faults I can see which stand out a mile !!
"It will be switched back to an age-related registration plate in the event of a successful auction."
always a pitter for insurance and TAX that, change the ***** plate before sale as it's expected to sell, a real pitter for abuyer that who wants to collect the day after auction ! as there will be NO V5 ! just stupid.
tatty imo, would need £8k work which is why it's not been retailed (ok less now it's had that service just done so lets call it £6k work)
No Over rev report but it's just been in for a service !!! pretty basic to show a Over Rev report now days.
reason it's for auction over being retailed are clear price has to be reflected in that.
to me, at a guess looks like some one bought a minter, than tracked it for 4 years and now selling up without spending 1p on it 6k miles later.
I guess he was forced to now add that service at least.
Am I being harsh ?

Do you have a randon number generator at the back of your sofa? you could spend £7k plus on that to make it look nice.

I agree with your gripes about the annoying lack of attention to details like a hole in the nomex seat, the scuffed alloys and the plate transfer ballache...
But please, I would love to hear the breakdown of the £8k costs?

You are missing the context given the seller of the car. I don't know him from Adam but I know of him. Has quite a collection and races serious historic kit, very capably. you could spend £7k plus on that to make it look nice.

For anyone interested, I would get in touch via CC and feel pretty good about buying the car, subject to all the usual risks when buying privately.

Agree with David on this front, i've just bought something similar; good car, would be fine for many, I could easily drop £8k on it making it fresh. These cars are old now and need a lot of looking after to remain absolutely on the money. But wanted to hear where the other £7k are coming from
