I am now about to order but struggling to understand the interior. It seems that you can have two alcantara packages, the GTS package (GR) plus the GTS interior package 088. I remember my 997 GTS was a bit bare inside, but do you need both of these or have I misunderstood? Also on the seat front are the Sports Bucket seats with memory electric code P02.
It is a minefield the configurator.
Correct - I had the same confusion myself....You need to order both GTS packages to get the leather dash and door cards etc, and it seems you can't order one without the other....or rather, Porsche wont let you....very clever up selling...!It is a minefield the configurator.
To get leather dash (full leather interior with all the alcantara with black stitching) tick the leather and alcantara box
You can then tick, in addition, the GTS pack. Essentially stitching, carbon and mats. An extra £2300 approx....

Radar cc is again something I'd quite like, but can probably live without, so haven't specced it. (It also annoys me that it's almost certainly the same VAG tech that's standard fit on my Golf R...!)
Radar cruise is great and actually works very well away from motorways too. Edited by Cheib on Monday 6th March 21:41

Ah, makes sense.....I must have clicked the options on the configurator in the other order, as I could only pick the GTS pack if I chose full leather interior....either way, I wanted both options..!To get leather dash (full leather interior with all the alcantara with black stitching) tick the leather and alcantara box

Can someone please tell me more about the 18 way sports plus seats?
I know you get all the seat adjustments including bolsters, lumbar?, and electric steering column adjustment.
Is the memory stored on one of the keys as well as the memory buttons or is it separate? How many different setups can be stored? Does the passenger seat get remembered as well? Do the seats move forward when the backrest is tilted to allow easier access to the rear?
Sorry for all the questions - just trying to find out exactly what ticking that option gives you.
Thanks

Memory is stored on buttons located on the seats...there are two or three buttons. Passenger seat has its own set of buttons/memory. I know you get all the seat adjustments including bolsters, lumbar?, and electric steering column adjustment.

Yes, there is a "comfort entry" setting which you select via PCM.

I think they are 14 way seats? The 18 way also have electric adjustment on the side bolsters of the seat and back. I've got them currently and have spec'd them for my GTS.
The sports plus seats are std on GTS models, the upgraded ones are 18 way, however you can also opt for 14 way sports seats (they are narrower across the back and have slimmer bolsters). I don't know the differences between 14 way and 18 way other than that, but I would want the sports plus seats anyway.Edit: I see now you were referring to the link above John, the seats in the video are the sports plus ones - maybe they just didn't mention the bolsters - or maybe US specification is different? They also didn't mention the other memory for the button with the key on, or the steering wheel adjustments, so maybe it's just a quick overview rather than a full description of the features?
I would like to get hold of the UK spec GTS download for the good to know app - does anyone know the part number to choose?

are the bucket seats similar to the ones that were in the GT cars? does anyone know how similar they are to the carbon buckets the 997 GT3 came with ?
Yes, the folding buckets available in the 991.2 GTS are exactly the same ones as available in the GT4, and 991 GT3.I'm not sure if they are identical in part number to those fitted to a 997 GT3, but they certainly look and feel the same.

i would be interested to know if Specing the Fold Buckets would help or hinder the the resale value?I'm not sure if they are identical in part number to those fitted to a 997 GT3, but they certainly look and feel the same.

I would be surprised if it hurt there are not many around with buckets and they really add to the GTS feel imoIF its in a RWD coupe buckets in a Targa perhaps not so much

Tricky to answer...for sure, there's probably a smaller market for a GTS with bucket seats, but then there'd also be fewer cars for sale, so I don't think it would make much difference.I did consider the bucket seats for my GTS, but in the end, I thought the sport plus seats would suit me better in this car......but I still question my decision....!

thats what i feel buckets will always be easy to sell in the more sporty 911s and would put a RWD Coupe GTS in that bucket PDK or manual
i am surprised to see they are not more popular to be honest but i guess there are practicality considerations for many owners with the buckets
They're expensive and not "essential"....the Porsche Configurator is a very dangerous place! Hard to spec a GTS without putting £15k (and some much more) of options so adding another £3k can just tip people over the edge. i am surprised to see they are not more popular to be honest but i guess there are practicality considerations for many owners with the buckets

Yes, the configurator is very dangerous - I'm at £20k of options and struggling to decide what I would be happy without! No buckets either, but the 18 way seats instead.Gorsh said:

Cheap motoring for the previous owner (not that he did much of it).
