Whats everyone's thoughts on the clubsport package - It seems to command a premium on previous generations but surely this is due to the fact less people ticked the box when new so it now commands the premium because it's rare? Are people choosing clubsport on the basis that it will be more desirable when selling on at a later date rather than actually wanting/needing it?
I'm undecided as I intend to use the car mostly for the road..
FWIW I went the comfort route with the 991.1 GT3 as I was going to use it as a road car. However the car is so capable on the road that you'll want to take it on the track to property exploit it. I would also definitely spec the bucket seats so you feel more connected. So this time I've spec'd CS knowing I can always take the roll bar out. I think someone said it was an extra 17kg which is offset by PCCB's and the LWB'sI'm undecided as I intend to use the car mostly for the road..

I am struggling to think of a 991.1 GT3 I've seen on the market specced with buckets and no cage. I am sure people will prove me wrong within the hour!
My 7.2 GT3 has buckets but no CS as I am using it as a daily. Would never go for a GT3 without buckets. They are the most comfortable seats for me tooCheib said:
I think a lot of the lure of the CS is that in the second hand market there are very few (if any) non CS cars that have bucket seats. I think it might be Bucket Seats that people really want as they transform the driving experience and really differentiate the car from a "normal" 911.
My guess is if you spec a GT3 like the R i.e. Buckets, no cage and PCCB's that's your perfect road spec and will be equally as popular as the CS.

Comfort spec cars with leather and buckets sell the best esp in 997.2 GT3 and 991 GT3 market imo.My guess is if you spec a GT3 like the R i.e. Buckets, no cage and PCCB's that's your perfect road spec and will be equally as popular as the CS.

As you stated the markets for GT3 is more driven by buckets, not the cage on the newer cars. 996 and 997.1 maybe more CS bias.
I am still waiting for my 2018 round 2 slot, but thinking about total R spec as I am a fan of less weight, I have had so many cars these days less weight really does feel good when you swap into cars which weigh less.

You are right, there were very few of us on PH who specced buckets and no cage for the 991.1.

Yes, correct.Seem to remember Sidicks did....although he may be along shortly to correct me......
In retrospect I probably should have gone Club Sport and asked for them not to fit the cage / harnesses, but i didn't realise that was an option at the time and I knew that that 99%+ of my driving would be on the roads.
Personally i think that for road driving, buckets, no cage plus PCCB is the perfect spec.

Can anyone tell me how many mounting points the cage has and where they are located? I'm not too fussed about having holes in the trim if they are not obvious.
Thanks
I was at PEC this week on there performance course and was lucky enough to actually go in the car.
They are being very restrictive and you need to have an order to be allowed in it according to the manager. I am sure that will change in the not to distant future, especially once it forms part of the GT course they run.
The car has clearly already had a good run in with 5,500 miles already on the car.
The engine though is amazing especially at the very top end, it made the RS in the last 1,000 revs sound a bit weak.

Just seen Crayon at Kendal OPC ... not for me I'm afraid
On the Panamera?I agree, personally I don't think it will suit the GT3, but until someone tries it we won't know

It could be a future classic colour?
If it was Grey I don't think they'd have called it Chalk/Crayon it would have Grey in the name! Every other Porsche grey seems to have Grey in the name, Atlas, Agate, Volcano, Meteor, Sports Classic, Fashion, Grigio Campovolo etc etc!
One thing is for sure you absolutely have to see a car in the metal before ordering.
