My wife would LOVE that!! Looking forward to pics (of you in the drivers seat wink ) when that arrives mate!
Ha. Yes...the OPC ordered a Boxster for showroom stock in that colour which my wife saw when we picked up our Cayenne in March...it had sold to a lady customer first day on the showroom floor.

There are pictures of a 991 GT3 RS in it on the web....I am sure a 991.2 GT3 would look pretty good in it too if someone had the balls!

Ruby Star...formerly called Rubystone when first used(I believe) on the 964 RS. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea!

Don't you get it Cheib...This colour is also known internally as 'Stop husband driving my new car repellant pink'...;) Seriously it looks much better than i expected despite not enough to sway me from choosing Racing yellow on my GT3..

Ha yes....It's a better option than a Pink Fiat 500 or VW Beetle though! I definitely wouldn't drive either of them. Unfortunately she can't use it for the school run as we have two kids. I think it actually works okay on the 718....wouldn't dare order it on a Macan or a 911 Carrera although I reckon a Targa GTS would look okay.

Your point on the buckets makes perfect sense due to the uniqueness however why not apply that mentality and choose clubsport with the fixed buckets for the ultimate kudos.Any particular reason you're omitting clubsport as in the USA potential GT3 buyers are up in arms because they can't spec clubsport or folding buckets. If you're concerned with the extra weight of the rear cage as i was initially after researching i found it only weighs 17.5Kg which was much lower than the 30Kg i was expecting.
At -4 temps the lack of heated seats will be the last of your worries when driving the GT3 as all you're concentration will be on trying to keep the GT3 on the road imv...I live in a mild maritime climate on the west Wales coast and i never missed heated seats on my GT4 as the alcantara buckets are never cold anyway in complete contrast to leather..
I think this is a good point - unless you're going to fit winter tyres then you won't be driving it much in the cold, so heated seats aren't necessary - I certainly wouldn't let the option of heated seats determine whether to choose the folding or fixed buckets.

I would however suggest trying both, if possible, as I think I'm right in saying that the folding buckets have no adjustability and if they fit you then they are great (I'm very lucky in that regard), but other (different shape) people find them uncomfortable. The fixed buckets have more adjustability in height (and angle?) I think?

Any idea what the actual difference is (in inches)?

I'm 6'2" and haven't noticed a problem (but obviously I've not tried the fixed buckets!).

Just measured the height difference which is a maximum of 2cm lower for the newer Spyder buckets compared to the older folding buckets.

So less than an inch?
I guess it must feel greater than that!

The other aspect to this is that because the Spyder buckets are slightly wider at the hips, those that are, shall we say, err lardier, would inevitably sit lower in these than in the narrower folding buckets.

When I was at the PEC recently the instructor was all over seat height...I now realise it makes a massive difference. I reckon I have changed my seat height by maybe 3 cm (lower)....feels like I am driving a different car.

Went to Wilton House Supercar Sunday today and saw 3 991.1 GT3s.

None had SC and I now agree that it's not as popular as I first thought. Mine will be 99% road use so perhaps it's not needed if usability is required. I would like still like it to complete the road/racer feel but the deal breaker for me is if it squeaks. has anyone had the squeaks in a 991?

Doing a lot of soul searching on the different blues at the moment. I prefer lighter shades on the GT3 like Mexico or Gulf to Miami

I would go Mexico rather than Gulf....Gulf is very pale. OPC had a PTS 991 Turbo in Gulf last year which looked good but not the woe factor of the brighter blues.

Meissen is on my list too as is Etna but I need to see all of them on proper colour samples and not just pics

Anyone had anything later than an October build slot confirmed yet? Just asking as "my car" will be a 2018 one....when/if confirmed!
