This was quite a hard thread to read with all the flying handbags.

I hope you won't be put off posting a picture of it in 7A1 by the thread. I have done PTS a few times and it's one of Porsche's finest colours and has a duality to it in shade/direct sun which I think is superb. Assume you've gone for Pale Gold wheels a la 997.2 RS?
Can you make your mind up about the Speedster, after being the Worlds first to order one are you now saying as it’s double the price of a Touring it’s now financially out of reach at the moment?

See below your post:

Thank you MDL.

The CGT is still my unicorn. I will take a look at the Stuttgart car but the indicative price I have been given no the Speedster is eye watering to say the least (double the touring optioned), making it out of reach for the time being.

AND

If a £240k Speedster is out of your range then how is a £700k CGT within it?

In the meantime here is some real BrntRubber

This is a brilliant thread.

Its currently the most divisive thread on P'heads. This 2nd batch of RSs is creating all kinds of petty squabbling.
To get things back on track my OPC informed me this morning that they have been given three allocations and official build dates this week commencing from July onwards till late Autumn..The DP has yet to decide who gets one but i'm still hopeful it'll include me.
Yes been told exactly the same by my opc

Guys some of you should probably put your keyboards away for a while - I don’t get all the anymosity on here - it just leads to lots of valuable contributors having disappeared over the last couple of years ...

I have asked numerous times to keep this thread on topic and in a positive manner. Unfortunately, Barry, known here as Juno, needs to watch the way he behaves.

London is a small town and everyone should conduct themselves with respect and dignity.

I am happy to take this thread back in the right direction, but Barry please behave in a respectful manner.

I believe in forums like this and being a UK forum we have a lot to learn from one another.

I will share any info I get on the GPF and the Speedster as and when I get it.

Hi
Thank you for the constructive post.

I was under immense time pressure to finalise my build. I was told there was one PTS sold on Friday afternoon and the build had to be finalised by Monday.

I used the guys at NS2 for the renders and they were amazing help, working over the weekend to help me out as a returning customer. I can’t recommend Anthony enough!

I had never seen Grey Black on a car, in the flesh, only on a sample spray, but I liked the sample and liked that it had Porsche heritage. The choice was also supported by some of the guys on the Touring owners chat.

The above combined by hours of PTS searching on Instagram and other forums boiled the shortlist down to Carbon Steel Metallic and Seal Grey Metallic as the only metallic colours (later confirmed seal Metallic is not available on 991s, but flat seal grey is approved) and then Nardo Grey, Grigio Telesto and Grey Black as the flat greys each one being darker than the previous.

I finally settled on Grey Black with the mag wheels painted the same colour (white gold) as on the GT2 RS vs the 3RS Aurum. If it gets rejected by Porsche, due to it being exclusive to the 2RS, I will have them sprayed after delivery either the exact colour of the 997 or 2RS. Nothing has bounced back so far so fingers crossed.

I also debated having RS 4.0 in the matching gold on the side blades of the wing but that it might be over the top.

Funny enough, a couple days after the build slot locked, I was at JZM getting a rear bypass fitted on my touring and they had a 997 3RS grey black on gold. It looked great and I think against all the carbon it will look even more epic.

Grey black is a fantastic colour and will look awesome with the tonally contrasting carbon . I’d call out the 4.0l on the side blades too - I’d also make the GT3RS side decals W gold : Rick as Highgate House can sort this for you : enjoy smile

Anyway as you put it let’s keep this on track, nice colour for a GT2RS,what stitching did you got for on a silver car? I’m never sure if it should be yellow or silver?

Thank you for compliment on the colour.

The 2RS has the bordello interior so I went red stitching including ac vents covered in leather with red stitching and bent slats painted gloss black.

Touring has yellow stitching on black exterior

3RS will have grey stitching including leather covered vents with grey stitching and gloss black slats.

Rather than continuing to ask stupid questions if you still need evidence why don’t you grow a set and pop round to Sloane Square with a grovelling apology? Many on here would probably punch your lights out but BR seems much more forgiving which is astonishing considering your completely baseless and childish accusations.

Or better still simply take BR’s word and apologise publicly on this forum.

Karma smile
