Serious question…

All of you that have the £10k deposits on a 992(S) ready to be flipped on to a T when it’s announced… how long before your OPC/ Porsche want you to lock a spec and your deposit becomes non-refundable?

Or am I wrong in assuming that a deposit doesn’t actually get linked to an order? … but if that’s the case then the PEC voucher wouldn’t be generated?

Anyone paid the deposit and not got a PEC day? Cos that then sounds like the OPC is just banking your 10k.
It £5k deposit on normal 911 Order just gets moved to next Q allocation or when car is announced I presume they give your allocation to next person or the order car for stock .
They reckon PEC is not linked to purchase ! I’ve had my invite but got told it will be changed on release.

My OPC reckons it’s still getting built and announcement is expected.

If you are not willing to put a deposit down you will not get allocation catch 22. If you wait to release date you will be at the back of what could be a long que. It’s refundable until spec is locked , I’ve not provide a spec so they are unable to lock anything in my name.

In speccing a regular Carrera I kind of got into the idea of the car I was putting together so I wouldn't be devastated if I ended up with it should the T not be announced in the foreseeable future. The decision may prove to be take the build I've put together or hold out until the Gen 2 car comes out.

My OPC won’t take a deposit until they can secure it against a car. So the money stays in my pocket until then.

I suppose each OPC is different but it is a good way of guaranteeing one of the early cars. I think your OPC is unusual by playing the game strictly by the rules as it won't be a limited car so they don't need to worry about not being able to fulfil, it's just a question of when. And the 'when' is the frustrating part right now - LOL

Just buy a manual 992 GTS with lightweight pack, no back seats, light glass, so exactly the same as a T but with 90 more BHP.

Which is exactly why there won’t be a Carrera T 992.

Well that’s what I think, the 992 GTS looks great.

Does anybody have any update on the 992T, I'd placed a deposit in anticipation and then it all went very quiet.......

Feels like it was always a rumour that got shear of itself. Perhaps put of desperation from dealers as stocks are so low. Latest when I spoke to my dealer last week was that they still hoped and I could get early on one if I wanted. But little to nothing actually concrete.

Just tie a bit of string to the door handle for the full T experience!

Can you have the steel door pulls as a no cost option, or would ruin the whole ‘T’ experience?

Different end of the range though? The ST is the new “R” ?

Kind of yep. 'tis what it is though. I don't think the wide body 992 would have suited a T anyway. The 991 T would be the more elegant car, should there have become a comparison.

I would suppose with Porsche able to sell every single higher price (higher profit) 992 derivative they can make under current production limitations, there's no current business case to canabalise the production capacity with a lower price (lower profit) T version.

Maybe T will come tail end of .2 life cycle to maintain demand ahead of 994.

If there is no manual option on the 911 . I’m out - a long wait for nothing.
