Suspect things might be easing up a bit as I have gone from 4th in list for C2 Cab to 1st in a matter of a few weeks as told the 3 in front have all cancelled/bought 2nd hand etc
what makes you think things are easing up if the only reason you're now ahead in the queue is because the ones ahead of you bailed, rather than got allocations and cars?

I would say its not easing up at all, the odd car is trickling through, but its still mainly GTSs

Good for you @Kickstart , it appears that you live in an area where people are not willing to wait. Sadly, it doesn’t translate to easing up across the market.

I moved to 3rd from 4th in 7 months, also because of cancelled order. I am not celebrating, as my dealer has not seen any new C2 or C2S for over 8 months.

I’ve been allocated a C2 10 months from deposit placement so there are now some C2 being made.

I enquired with my dealer this week about my C4S which was meant to be mid June build. It’s now late July build so has slipped about 6 weeks….

I did wonder if a few flippers might have decided to pull out as it looks as if big premiums for mainstream 992s may have reduced

Did they PDI it at the docks or are they doing it at the dealer?

I did the Porsche factory tour in Zuffenhausen a few weeks back. The guide mentioned they are now running 3 shifts as opposed to two on the 911/718 line.

Hopefully that brings down wait times

Positive news regards 3 shifts instead of two! Must be a good flow of parts again. Might even get mine completed this time on the 24th of Aug. Another delay would do my head in!
Was the factory tour really good, thinking of taking my son to do it next year?

At the dealers; it arrived at dealers last Friday I think, off to detailers for ceramic Mon/Tue (OPC liaised direct with my preferred detailer - very helpful - though they use same guys themselves as well as having an OPC in-house guy); final PDI etc today and collecting tomorrow

I read that TSMC a micro chip marker is cranking-up production and declaring record profits.
Hopefully this is a contributing factor to Porsche going into 3-shifts mode

My local dealer said they’re only expecting to deliver 2 new 911’s this year, whereas previously they were getting 2 a month.

Doesn’t sound like things are improving at all.

Same here, my OPC is wishing and praying for one 911 per quarter. So far, they got one 911 GTS in the last six months.

This makes no sense.

Porsche reported selling more 911s in 2021 than ever before and the figures for the first half of 2022 are even higher. So, it can't be the case that dealers are generally delivering fewer 911s than usual.

To put some numbers on that, Porsche delivered 21,616 911s to customers in the first half of 2022. In 2021, it was 38,464 911s for the whole year. So, 2022 is a bumper year for 911s, the best ever in the history of the model so far.

Overall, Porsche is slightly down in the first half of 2022 versus 2021 re deliveries of all vehicle models, but only by five percent. It is still the second highest first half for deliveries overall. The idea that there's some major shortage of Porsches clashes with the facts regarding the numbers of cars being delivered.
