That is the most disgusting colour combination on a 996T interior I have ever seen...
Agreed re 996/997 though. But there is really only one colour which works with the simplistic interior.
Black with Black, has someone died?Agreed re 996/997 though. But there is really only one colour which works with the simplistic interior.
Myself and others truly love Grey with color coded tunnel, Black just hides the dirt pantybeater,
away back to the naughty step until I call you.....

Others? No the majority will agree grey is an awful interior choice, similar to that of your grand parents furniture, or probably yours for that matter.Myself and others truly love Grey with color coded tunnel, Black just hides the dirt pantybeater,

PS I find it mildly amusing you, who claims to know so very much about 996 Turbo's, purchased one, mapped by 9E, on a standard clutch, and expected it not to be on the way out. Every man and his dog knows a stock clutch cannot cope with the extra power a map gives, so much so that its actually stated on the 9E website. And still you have the balls to call out the previous owner who you purchased the car from, to be to blame. Just wow.... ENTIRELY your fault for not doing your research.
My work here is done, goodnight..

I wanted to choose mint green with natural grey leather interior when ordering new 997 turbo back in 2006. Salesman talked me out of it. Very disappointed i went with black/black. Dull as dishwater and black paint very difficult to look after over a long period....Agreed re 996/997 though. But there is really only one colour which works with the simplistic interior.

Usually bought by dentists, bankers and accountants.I wanted two toned leather and viper green with gun metal wheels - not a chance.
Black on black with blacked out windows is fine - if you are a drug dealer and have your detailer on speed dial!

Ha did I mention I was a tight fisted so and so with 5 sets of public school fees to pay!Wasn't a huge fan of my grey interior on the box, but the black trim broke it up a bit...
The 996 is however an all black affair, with the small alu pack. I'm debating colouring the centre console and hardback seats, but which colour I don't know yet... I'd also would have liked to have had red belts.
Like TRD I love the look with the centre console delete!

Another weird Pistonheads fruitcake thread.
OP I have a 996 turbo if you would like to get in touch.
Rest of the thread has made me laugh and squirm at the same time.
Red Devil, you believe that you bought a car with a worn out clutch- you portray yourself as a specialist porsche dealer and the driving oracle- shame on you for getting caught out. Good lesson there.
Your rantings and behaviour are embarrassing mate, you are definitely somebody I would not want to buy a car off. I'm not loaded and change my cars infrequently so don't worry this won't put you out of business. Most dealers and mechanics on here try to be professional and courteous as it's the sensible/intelligent thing to do. With specialist cars, reputation of the dealer can be a major factor.
Light interiors attract less money unless the cars are v.low mileage, fact. Before the very recent boom, I could often tell the interior colour by the price of the car (often with a light interior adverts would try to hide it or show minimum photos due to their marmite nature!).
Back to the point in hand 996 Turbos are great, not as good as 997 turbos but much better and better value than average 993s 964s and 3.2s (they are all cars I love!).
OP I hope that you find a nice car- ypu have lots to choose from and I hope that you enjoy it!

bought the car blind 450 miles and had it brought up on a truck, dimwhit.
I find nothing embarrassing at all, life is too short for that.
As for upsetting people, so what, I cant stand boring people with a sheep like mentality.
On that note you are no longer the spaceman, every time I see you posting your name
from now forward it will be Sheepman.....
Did you not consider that I don't need to be the pleasing kind, I do what I do out of choice,
I don't need a job, I don't have to be servile and agreeable, and if I don't sell anything for
a month or two it matters not, if you follow. I am in this for the crack, if I make a few quid
great, if not no big problem.
If I am attacked or ridiculed I will thoroughly enjoy myself putting the offender in his
place, so don't start something you are not capable of finishing, you don't have the skills.
Away and tend the sheep now....Sheepman

Having lived with it a while I can say that the Grey is a clean shade that you can see is clean
and then keep clean, and it does not heat up as quickly as Black, and if you are happy with it then
it does no harm......
