I’d been told March. The Macan may well be it…
With the long waiting times, you’d wonder if it’ll be left until gen 2.

Maybe they will make the effort and put the 4.0 in it, before EV takes hold.

I’ve refrained from putting a deposit down so far, the whole process has got a bit of a turn off..

Isn't it odd I grew up lusting after a 911 Turbo, thought the 959 was incredible and beyond anything I could aspire to owning.

Now a 911GTS delivers the same 450bhp and similar performance and drivetrain for sub £120k and its MEH i'd rather have a normally aspirated, 2wd, manual gearbox version....

Its not happening. They are releasing the 992 ST instead.
What is the ST about? Have not heard of it yet

The T will quite possibly be released in the 992.2 refresh, certainly won't be until later this year, as long as they offer it in a manual I'm all up for one.
Talk of 4.0L talk of 3.0tt either or for me.. 414 naturally aspirated horses or 385 turbocharged horses.. similar Torque just 22lb/ft difference but totally different driving experiences.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I have given up and pulled my deposit. Currently searching out a 997.1 C2S project car. 350-380 horses just fine with me. Just need to find time to actually go look, oh and finish the garage to put it in....

Sorry to hear that, but your new project seems interesting and will be a good one for sure.

Sorry to hear this and I was feeling like this for quite some time, but after 8 months of waiting I finally got my allocation last week. Basically, it will be 12 months from ordering to delivery if they can meet their timelines now. The US ship burning with the Porsche vehicles on board concerns me though and hope this doesn't have a knock on effect to right hand drive markets.

I ordered in June. Pre ordering the dealer was my best mate. Wouldn't leave me alone. Since ordering I've barely heard a thing and had to chase for simple updates. Date keeps getting pushed back.

This was my original thought before i got wind of the T, a 997 RPM CSR type build.
Let's hope the used price madness ends so good ones can become attainable.

I’ve waited this long and there’s not much chance of getting an allocation for anything else at present !

That's what I've been waiting for.

I ordered one in June. Was promised march time. Then June. Now maybe September if we are lucky.

Been dangled the t but I think that's just to keep my deposit at this point. Dealer was certain coming last November. Telling me the expected spec.

Thats PDK only, and I dare say a large percentage of T potential customers would like a manual. I certainly am. I still think its a shame that Porsche reserve the manual to lure you into a Carrera S, I'd have a base spec 992 tomorrow with a manual, it's more than quick enough.

I’m looking at CSR or Sport Classic for inspiration for sure, but want it as a rolling project to get the pleasure from that along the way.

I’ve had a 992 C2S PDK for a couple of years and scratched the itch. Awesome bit of kit, but maybe never meet your heroes, just far far to competent for me in reality.

Did think 992 C2 but no manual and can’t really mod it - so much tech, filters etc. just doesn’t work. I’m fully EV’d for a daily so for acceleration I’m sorted and the best PDK is no PDK if you know what I mean.

With no T on the horizon, 997 or even 996 backdate project it will be.

What is the ST about? Have not heard of it yet
The ST is claimed to be a stripped-out model for track use, just like the original of the 1970s. The engine choice is rumoured to be the 4.0-liter flat-6 of the current 911 GT3, possibly spitting out more than the stock 502 hp and coupled with some retro cues elsewhere on the car.

Quite normal I suspect. I’m basically half way through an anticipated 15 months ish wait. I just take the view that the deposit gives me an option on a car when the time comes as otherwise I would be wound up about how elastic the process appears to be in the black box world of 911 ordering. I’ve stopped asking as I don’t think the salesman has any idea hence the last comment.

if like to be that relaxed about it, but I find the process and lack of info frustrating and ruins a lot of the excitement of buying such a car.

I appreciate there are challenges right now but no way is Porsche manufacturing as devoid of information and foresight as the dealerships are.
