I take it, you placed order/letter of intent based on vaguely confirmed rumour, well played, Sir!

Thanks! Indeed I did place the order/LOI based on rumour and I’m pretty sure I was the first of my dealer’s customers to do so, but even then I was only allocated a car once they knew they’d get 4 Tourings as there were three customers apparently more deserving than me.I take it, you placed order/letter of intent based on vaguely confirmed rumour, well played, Sir!
Sorry if this has been gone over but is there any pattern to the time to allocation?
Was it long to start and now getting shorter or does it depend more on the model and/ or your history with the dealer?
Thank you
What happens if your order crosses an upgrade date a is more
Likely now , do they transfer you automatically?

Archie, have a look at the tables posted above. Was it long to start and now getting shorter or does it depend more on the model and/ or your history with the dealer?

Patterns are changing and it does depend on your relationship, but you can get an idea how long other people waited for allocation and delivery.

It’s all as you may suspect at many levels. So, Relationship/history have a sizeable bearing along with the dealers actual order book numbers and general build numbers for specific models. Your order should just roll over to a Gen 2 assuming that car is released before you reach the top of the list. Was it long to start and now getting shorter or does it depend more on the model and/ or your history with the dealer?
Thank you

Why are T allocations so quick ?
I ordered in nov 21 and no sign of an allocation !
Jeremy, my allocation came through fast, as I was the first client at my OPC to put down the deposit for the Carrera T, the day after I read about C2T on this forum. Naturally it helped to have existing relationship with the OPC. Having said that, I was bumped to #2 by a whale, who bought and returned multiple GT cars in the past, but wanted a T for daily runabout.I ordered in nov 21 and no sign of an allocation !
The longer allocations recorded are where people had a 911 order in place for months and changed it to the T for faster delivery. Generally speaking, new models are prioritised for production, while base and S are now hardest to get until new 992.2 launch when production will ramp-up again.
Reading this thread makes me despondent.
Ordered a 911 cab in nov 21. In theory a car for may 2023.
Heard nothing.
I don’t really know how Porsche allocate these things as a T seems to be super quick and the turbo above etc.
It maybe many things but first come first served it is not which makes me assume that Porsche Guildford are rather playing some game that I am not party to the rules of !
Not an overly impressed camper !
