That looks on great condition, in particular considering the miles.

Would you mind sharing which detailer you used and whether you were happy with value for money?
I'm based in Basel, Switzerland. The detailer was Kamber Autopflege (https://www.autopflegekamber.ch/).
I have used them before a couple of times and while they are not amongst the top of the world detailers, they are very good and they have worked on high class stuff before. But prices in Switzerland are very high. And I don't know what the price was, because I have not yet recieved the invoice wink

It happened. I finally got my poster car! ( well, the water cooled version ) I've been wanting one since i was a kid, and seriously looking since Christmas.
its a 2006 C2S, 74k miles, 9 services, it comes with grey extended leather, memory seats, sport chrono, modern pioneer head unit, no engine rebuild, has been recently borescoped, all ok. plenty of work done in the last few years.
First impressions: I love it, the noise is addictive, plenty of power, not had chance to test the handling yet as I only got it on Friday. Oh, and its very Red!
Andy.
Congratulations party

I can’t see it clearly, but has your HVAC been painted? Looks much darker than the oem (artic?)silver.

Huge disclaimer: Do not try this at home!!! It isn't half as easy as it looks on these photographs!!!
It took me roughly 14h to do this and I lost half of my hairs... You have to be a complete nutter to do this!! yikes

But wow, was it worth it!!! It really does look factory OEM and is a huge improvement over the vulcan grey, imho.
Everything else in my 997 is basically standard, but this is what you could order from the factory (leather upholstered PCM/HVAC) and is what Porsche did with the 997.2. (vulcan grey interior parts with black PVM/HVAC)

Oh, and I fitted a cheap Dension clone (Mr. 12 Volt) I bought off Amazon.
Works really really well, but I still have to fit a microphone (a visible one that was supplied is not acceptable to my eyes. will have to buy one in the states that fit the same mounting point of the oem one in the steering wheel column). I didn't have a CD changer, but nevertheless I didn't need programing it. My built in telephone modul (fully functioning with its own SIM card wink) still works alongside the bluetooth (although without microphone atm)....

Forgot to say, lovely 911 by the way, I really wanted Red or Yellow but got bored and went black in the end.

Mine also has the extended grey / black leather which is nice too. I also have crappy HVAC switches to swap at some point and also want to paint the silver bits a darker black….

beer

You’ll get used to this, they like a drink…

I beg to differ. Again, to quote myself from my readers car thread:

Filling up with a younger brother...

28.25 mpg @ avg. 78.3 mph over a distance of 744 miles, including the N85 between Grenoble and Gap and also the route départemental into St. Tropez. Not a bad GT, I would have said.
I don’t know what car you are comparing the 997 to, but ime they are very frugal. Good aerodynamics play a major role afaik.

Who cares anyway, lifes too short to worry about fuel consumption on a weekend toy anyway.... right?
Yes, you are right.
That is why I added a Range Rover Classic as a 5th car to the fleet some time ago. I never bothered to do a complete readout, but I think this is the least economic car I have owned so far.

But I really intend to bring the fleet down to a two car garage this year! 997 will stay and all other cars will probably be replaced with an Audi SQ7 (petrol one of course wink)

Love it, unique! Really like the fact they got a base Carrera 3.6 and chose to splash out on individual colour scheme rather than, say, going for boring grey and spending the money on a 3.8 S instead. Although I would have specced Litronics at least...
What he said!!

No need for Litronics, imho. Especially if you live in the UK.
For those in Germany, Porsche has a type approval for Porsche OEM H7 LED for 997 (and 996 iirc).

Do enjoy your car, especially with the current weather wink
Last Monday I drove the Grand Tour route from Basel to St. Ursanne and back through the french countryside. I can highly recommend driving

The tan interior... vomit
I love it! Suits the car beautifully, imho.
I would retrim the steering wheel in tan leather too wink

Dark olive is just about the best colour for a 911 in the known universe, again imho cloud9

"Make no mistake; Rindt's 911R Sport Classic is a one-off dream car" .....or nightmare?
I say "mare".... Looks like a cheap and careless job done. Some of the detailing is poor, for instance the non-matching length of the orange sticks at the top of the centre console, or the state of wear of the leather seat edges. Just makes me think corners have been cut all through.
Or the worn HVAC buttons, or the cheap after market headunit, or the missing 3rd brake light (on the continent, this wouldn't pass a TÜV/MFK/MOT).
Also there ale leafes and dirt under the ducktail...

I was under the impression, UK 997 (except GT3/S) came with extended leather as standard. This has a plastic dashboard.

Question for the TIP owners out there: are there any tips and tricks on how to drive the thing? After my initial warm feelings towards the C2S Cab Tip, I’m feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the experience of this car compared to my base coupe manual and dare I say it, my dearly departed SLK 55 AMG.

I'd suggest it's simply a case of selecting gears manually, particularly to ensure the car sets off in 1st gear. If you leave it in D it's always going to feel sluggish and I think they set off in 2nd gear unless you really boot it.

Select gears like a manual (1st to start, mostly 2nd around town) and it will feel better, especially once the torque converter locks at around 3-4k rpm after which the throttle and the rear wheels are properly connected.

(ex-AMG and Cayenne owner in London)
What he said. Also there are several conversions for proper shift paddles that can be added to the steering wheel, or even a swap for a Macan sports wheel with paddles.
