Touring isn't it ? If Touring i think you've chosen the best exterior colour bar none. With GT silver and the Satin alum wheels (991R looklick) i would definitely go with the standard Bi-xenoms to keep the silver sleeper stealth look cohesive. On the other hand if going the winged route i would choose either the dark Bi-xenoms or Black LEDs to tie in with the black bits.
Cool. Yes Touring. You've confirmed my thinking - always good to get a 2nd opinion from a man in the know. Are you missing the GTS? I'm hoping to keep mine, finances permitted!

I am missing it terribly but i was given a very good deal before picking up my Gt3.My problem is sheer lack of time to drive them and a family including a lanky 14yr old son and growing 11yr old daughter; both extremely reluctant to go into the back of the GTS..I have a Cayenne SE Hybrid for family duties and picked up a new Jet Black Panamera Sport Turismo today for long trips.
I'm hoping to get a new 718 Spyder next year to hopefully complement 991.2GT3 RS..My problem is the back seats on 991s have now become not only unuseable but a bone of contention as well,so i've decided to only buy either all out uncompromising two seater Porsches and practical family friendly ones.
IIRC your kids are still at an age which fit in the back of 991s or i might have mixed you with someone else.

Loving this logic! We're taking our Cayenne S Diesel to Switzerland next weekend....would that be frowned upon in the Taffy household ?!?!

Yep, I'm feeling that. My kids are 10 and 12 but are both thankfully small! My wife also fits in the back of the GTS wink which is handy!

Edit: my 12 year old now insists I turn off the PSE and Tupac when dropping her off at school. She could not have coped with a wing on the GT3 - totes embarrassing, apparently.

Perhaps we need a Support Group for children with middle-aged fathers with Porsches. We may even get an EU grant?

The Black and Sapphire Blue cars look great...The GBM car is a bit of a spec disaster....Platinum wheels and the Red callipers do not work at all with GBM.

I must clarify my point on long trips..! When i say long trips what i meant was any further than the 16 mile electric only range on my Cayenne e-hybrid..My new Sport Turismo hybrid has an electric only range of approx 30 miles which is a long trip to us. We only plan to go further than 30 miles from home when my Porsche Mission e arrives in 2019.
I'm so impoverished by buying new Porsches i can't actually afford to put fuel in them..Thank God that my OPC fills the fuel tank to the brim on all new cars as this is the only time we can do long journeys..When i see only 100 miles left in the tank i drive straight to my OPC and p/x it for a new one with a full tank and start again.
How about that for logic..!rolleyes

I think that’s a brilliant idea but I’m not sure the EU grant would be forthcoming in the current climate smile

On a serious note the Penny Hybrid has twice the range of the Cayenne in electric only ? They must have made some serious improvements in battery tech ! To be expected but great to see.

In the current climate my 3 year old Cayenne has an actual indicated range of 15 miles and my Panny(Penny laugh) has an indicated range of about 28 miles. My Cayenne hasn't cost me a penny ever in roadtax and my Panny hybrid cost £15 FY tax.My new GT3 cost £2k FY tax which i winced at when i saw it.
The poor Inland Revenue contributes a lot to the initial purchase price as well as i'm S/E business owner.
Profound apologies for taking this excellent thread completely off subject.redcard

Not that it matters, but i don"t like the silver mesh grill on the rear. I suspect they have tried to differenciate it from the rear of the R.

Not a fan, would have looked a lot nicer in black like the R or a GTS grill or even one like the 50th anniversary edition.

This is a silver touring pack car as per windows surrounds. The mesh might be black on a black touring pack car.
Pictures from Phooey cool

Looks like Black mesh grille to me

Apart from the aero, is there any other difference between the winged and touring versions? ie softer springs, etc

...if not, then I expect the touring should be just as good on track as the aero levels on these cars are not all that significant for most amateur drivers.
No chassis difference, just an exterior trim package it seems.

Err, there’s news over on Rennlist re the Touring.
Top Gear have a report on driving the GT3T in & around Monaco; good article BUT... they’ve slipped in that rear seats are an option!!
Reporting error, or what?

Edit: copied from the article
“There are no rear seats, although you can add them back in at no extra cost. We wouldn’t, the two-tier void it leaves swallows whatever luggage you care to throw at it.”

Looks great from all the front and side angles. Not totally convinced about the rear on views....though it just may not photograph well but work in person.
