If it did not offer any extra stiffness it would not creak under load in the bends. The fact that it does must = extra stiffness to the chassis how ever small.
Generally the creaking is created by the loads generated by the driver to the harness crossmember not by torsional twisting of the chassis. The welded cage in the cup car is different in design and provides both roll protection and an element of rigidity. Although still marginal in effect a bolted in cage would need to have mounting points in front of the door pillar and have a cross member under the dash if it had that purpose in mind. By the time the torsional loads have reached the pick up points for the CS cage behind the door shuts, the majority of the twisting has already taken place. There are many designers of race cars that like a chassis to have a lot of rigidly at the front end and to be softer at the back end anyway but that’s another story

what is funny about that statement ?
You argue for the sake of it, on just about any subject. HP’s rebounding and sitting at 75k over list.
You bought one yet then?

What about now?

Here, have another rofl

So my average spec(!) car has arrived at the OPC.

Getting rather excited now. Especially when I get sent this photo.

Couple of bits need sorting on it. Mainly refurbishing the alcantara wheel from all those sweaty journalists hands. PPF did its job on the front end so its really clean. Hoping I can pick it up asap.

Lovely! A spanish Variety - Manwel Manwel! Not a bad GT4 replacement! biggrin

every thing I said was pretty much a fact. so if facts are funny it was funny ;-)

you said the cars were not in the same price point, of which at list they were and you could pick up a 458S for £220 fully speced easy.

I would wager they might go up, people want what they cannot have and t goes out of production in March,

with 458S prices at £325k and these at £199k I think it's a safe bet you won't now loose your shirt on one.
Facts? smile

yep, nothing there not factually correct.

458S went down quite a lot, then went up and was about the same price as a Perf at launch and for a couple of years sat at £225k second hand and up at £325k

Perf, are now £199k lowest price even in a nice spec and I bet come summer they go up a bit.

new For Lambo but Lambo have never had a car like the Performante before or a ring record holder, they won't reach 458S levels of madness , but I don't see them going down much more than the £199k ones which have sold, if they do drop another 10k, they will be up in summer.

I'll take a wager you cannot buy a perf for the £199k you can buy one today for in summer 2019. £50 to guide dogs sound ok ?

I am very fair like that.

Had a look at your 911GB at Reading a while back and at the time the PPF job looked A1. Same as my spec, well , mines PDK with plat stiching .

Enjoy it...

I’ll take that bet (seriously). So let’s say on 1 June 2019 there will not be more than 1 RHD UK Performante for sale on Pistonheads for 199k or less. Fair?

It’s done very low miles and it’s a lovely spec. He’s trying his best to make a profit on this sale. If I’m not mistaken the cars owned by a chap who is either a trader or has something to do with a private car garage, most properly only bought to flip.

In all fairness he stands a good chance of selling it if he’s sensible as it’s making others look expensive ATM.

The last car to get listed for 139k didn’t hang around long so this one may sell quick as well as long as it’s not financed up to the hills.

I do like a gt car in white

Let us know how you get on with the 458 and your thoughts against the GT3, will be a interesting read. I love Ferrari's, ex owner, I just love the engines and sound, they do feel like soulful cars. 458 is great fun, if you like NA, go-kart esq handling, it does move around abit, then you'll love it!! Even at lower speeds it feels special.
Interesting. When I could not get a GT3 allocation I bought a 430 Scuderia, which I absolutely love. I looked at a few 458s but they were not really for me, and the Speciales were too expensive. I could not resist the stripped out nature of the scud and the sound is biblical. The transmission I’d extremely crude compared to a PDK, but it’s part of the cars charm.

I’ve since bought a manual GT3, but I’m keeping the scud. I’ve only done a few hundred miles in the GT3 so far. It’s a very different beast to the Ferrari. A better car in every objective way but less character

Used lambos are forgettable cars imo, Ferrari’s are different.

Historically lambos normally fall in price harder than a Ferrari.

I think the signs are pointing towards everything being down in Summer 2019, not up.
