If it helps, I saw a 991.1 GTS on the M25 a couple of weeks back and I thought it looked absolutely stunning in the bright sunshine (said the man who's ordered Rhodium!)
Hi, I presume you saw a lava orange? Which gives me some comfort that I am not going completely mad thinking about buying an orange car!!
Hi Jacko, yes, sorry Lava Orange. It just looked so right with the black wheels and trim.

Mine will be visiting my workplace and in an attempt to be discreet went for boring silver. It will be my 4th silver car so I'm either boring or I really like silver!
Trying Rhodium over GT as the uk is generally cloudy and grim and side by side just preferred the brighter silver.

I've had Rhodium and GT Silver, and the GT Silver is a much richer colour and gives lots of different shades and depth, which Rhodium doesn't. Rhodium looks great in bright sunlight, but apart from that, I would definitely go for GTS, which I am doing on the GT3, having done it on the GTS.

Hi Cipo, I got talking to someone else who has just picked up hiss new GTS and he was saying every Porsche he has had was silver and he was determined to go for something different so went Agate grey - looks stunning. That configurator is so time consuming (and expensive!)

I'm also tempted by a Dark Grey, but Agate doesn't quite do it for me, personally. Would live Meteor or Steel Grey, but no PTS.

Jacko, very true.......In the end, i chose the 4 GTS coupe with £19k of options. Was also informed last week that my car is built and should be here next week. I have however deferred collection until September so not long to wait.

Agate is lovely and really shows off the lines of the GTS, especially with a ceramic coating and was definitely a consideration. However, to me, the lighter silver means less work making it look nice and I did like the contrasting black features of the GTS with the brighter background.
The feedback about the car so far from owners is very exciting. I don't think you can go wrong with any colour on this car.

The car is amazing. Not sure why, but I've never driven a car before that feels this good! Colour will definitely fade into irrelevance once you've had it a few weeks.

Ooooppppsssss, I succumbed. Popped into Swindon yesterday and ended up ordering a 991.2 GTS, picked up a build slot that another member had specced up (thanks Kevin) so I have an Oak Green Metallic car coming at the end of October. Planning on having the wheels done in silver or maybe platinum and a side stripe so will look a bit like this:

I pondered long and hard including a trip to the factory. I concluded long ago that sports cars should only have solid paint and not metallic paintwork.

Lava is loverly but only in the right light. Agate is great but a bit grown up and sensible. I'm not keen on blue cars (a bit of a generalisation). I ultimately went for guards red, which is also light sensitive, but in the right light (most lights) and when clean looks stunning.

Guards red is also on my list and whilst I know it's a different colour, i think it's as bright as the lava and a lot of online pictures/iTunes videos it a hard to tell whether it's guards red or lava!

Another point is the Porsche decals down the side, I quite fancy Porsche as above or perhaps even a black bonnet strip but can't see anything like that on the configurator. Is this something the dealership does?

There's a whole world of other options you can order from Porsche Exclusive which include the side decals. Think it's quite easy to get different colour letters etc. Can also be done easily after market...there's a company I have seen mentioned in threads a few times that does it. Have a search.

Bonnet stripe not sure about. They deffo wouldn't do R stripes at the factory.

Yep, aftermarket stripes and decals seem to quite easy to order and fit, side stripe was about £250.

Well done Chris and I can't wait to see it when built. I'm really genuinely excited for you as I think in oak green it will be the best GTS out there (IMO). I should also thank you as Sue was pushing me to keep the order and I don't think I would not have been able to resist if it turned up in the showroom without a buyer.

Are they saying the spec is locked down or are you able to amend? I can't remember where I was up to with spec as I had changed it a couple of times & Swindon were playing with it for me as well.

They are available as a Porsche part from tequipment and from memory the price is about £400 fitted by OPC.

Spec is locked apparently but that is a good thing or I would be in a pickle and start messing around with it.

It's weird, one part was £400 but using the stripes from the 911R it was cheaper at £250. There are always some quirks in the pricing.

Many thanks for that. Romans have a black GTS for sale and it looks amazing and that is second on my list of colours after Lava, that's really buggered it up for me now! I've had black before (996 and Macan) but I find they show up scratches more than any other colour, still I would save on stripes as it's the only colour I wouldn't think about adding them

I forgot to add they have the little rear lip spoiler option. I personally feel it's such a slight difference that it's not worth the money. Has anyone actually seen one in the flesh as I can hardly tell the difference.

Saw one at Silverstone recently and one on a white car at Swindon yesterday, side on you can see it clearly but other than that seems a lot of money for not a lot.
