Well each to there own I'm also looking for a gt2 997 model. If you look at any reviews of gt2 top gear evo Chris Harris they all tell you what an utterly insane performance car it is but you need to be a very capable driver to get the best out of it! Far quicker than any gt 3 and quicker around almost any track but a small one . Just google lap times gt2 and compare it to a gt3 lastly look at the Walter roll gt2 review mr porshe himself.
I love the gt3 I drove a 3.8 rs on a track day and it was fantastic a real track day weapon and the sound oh the sound! Il remember that for a long while
The gt2 though man what a car.... It is insane when you hit the loud pedal, from start you just don't have time to take it all in, in first to second to third it's terrifying & then fourth gear comes Jesus hell Christ, the feeling of just trying to master this car is so rewarding around a track, just amazing! On the flip side your wife can get into it and drive it down the road just as easy as any other car not that many owners would do that mind you

I've driven the Porsche circuit at Silverstone on one of their 'track craft' courses. There's nowhere near enough room to stretch a GT2's legs, get it on the main circuit and go up through the gears on Hangar straight, it'll pull the horizon in and anything infront of you and it'll just be getting into its stride when you need to brake, it's over 100 that the GT2 is really impressive.
That said it's still very usable on the road, overtaking is done with no issues, you can enjoy the power without going into crazy speeds and unlike a GT3 it doesn't need to be wound up to the limit before it feels quick.
I'm putting together a register of GT2s, if any owners past or present could PM me details of their car that would be massively helpful, I've got 15 997s listed (cars I know or have seen for sale).

Lets face it, a GT3 and a GT2 are both far too fast for the road.
You guys with 550HP turbo's and 600HP GT2's etc need to be....'re-calibrated'
My re-calibration devices are an E46 318 BMW which I use occasionally for train station journeys etc and I have a Cannondale road bike which I use for other journeys. Both of these have very poor acceleration as they are both powered by wheezy uneconomical engines on their last legs
After a few journeys in them, when I get into my GT3 its like a bloody rocket ship! I must say I have NEVER driven the GT3 and thought "this needs more power"

What info are you looking for and are you sharing it with the other owners?

What info are you looking for and are you sharing it with the other owners? The only viewable content is essentially the same level of detail you'd see in a used car ad on the Porsche site (options, reg date, pictures). I'd ideally like the last 4 digits of the VIN to properly ID each car but seeing as there's so few the spec and reg date are pretty good identifiers.
Would be great to get all the cars listed (including 996, 993 and RS).
Are left hookers invited?
Mine's a basalt black 2009 Clubsport I've had for just over 4 years. Now fully UK registered after coming with me from Dubai.
Love it more than the 997.1 GT3 I had before the GT2. Both great cars but the torque for road driving makes a difference.

Thanks for the replies, I was wondering whether I might stand a better chance of taking delivery of a 991GT2 as appose to a 991GT3RS and that's why I asked the 997 GT2 question regarding depreciation
There's still no news on the 991 GT2 is there? Haven't seen anything. If the 3RS goes turbo eventually I just don't see where a GT2 will fit in, Porsche hinted that there might not be a 991 version a while back, will be a shame.Off topic but thanks to those who've submitted their cars to the register, I'll get them on there today
