Well I've just driven both this morning…and more or less everyone is correct

I'll wait until they're run in before I make any definitive opinions! Most importantly they are sufficiently different

very very nice - congrats!

So far - irrespective of values etc - which one would you keep if you had to hand one back?

Welcome Andrew wavey

This is quite interesting ...

White 991RS RHD car for 190k ...

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
LOL. Anyone thinking they can buy a RHD 991 RS today for 190k deserves to have their pants well and truly pulled down.

Do you sit in front of the computer w@nking yourself off when another car appears for sale? I'm all for discussing values sensibly on forums, but seriously - some of you guys need to take a step back and look at what you're posting.

Now, lets all have a group w@nk and get it out of our systems biggrin

So its used RHD GT3 for £150K, or a new LHD GT3RS for £200k. With RHD GT3RS at 300k (£100k extra so you can go to a McDonalds Drive-Thru!) I know which I'd go for.

Look like a lovely pair - the 4 looks tiny compared to the RS - assume its image perspective rather than reality ? Cheers smile

Yep - its the prospective (and colour) , length wise there's only a few cm in it. The difference in width is more marked. Inside the GT4 is far more snug

Cheers - I have to say I can't quite get over the size of the RS - its bloody massive on the outside but feels very compact on the inside - like a reverse Tardis I guess - I've not driven mine in anger yet - hoping to have a proper blast at the weekend smile

Sorry for editing your image, but how cool would it be if it was side by side with a GT4 RS smile Sign me up.

I also thought this was the case with the GT3 and GT4 but in fact they are identical maximum widths at 1978mm including external mirrors which is also clearly applies to the RS.

Furthermore whilst the RS also looks lower than the GT4 (despite its 21 inch rear wheels), it is actually higher the max roofline being at 1291mm whereas the GT4 is at just 1261mm.

I think its a valid comment, not at all questionable.

The point they were trying to make was that as a driver, you have to be going biblically quick on the road in order to feel the car moving around and squirming on its tyres etc.

Fair enough but to me the point ' it is too quick for the road' remains unconvincing at best and ridiculous at worst. If it was true then the majority of most rapid cars and GT Porsches in particular would be in this category as the exploitable performance gains between one quick car and another are truly miniscule especially on the road.

driving
I think the point Evo made was that a 65k GT4 is as fun as a 150k 991RS on the road, which therefore makes it the winner by a country mile. Its all the performance you really need because you can't really extract any more without driving at hugely illegal and dangerous speeds. Further, how many on here will track their 991RS and drive it to the limit - not many I suspect, so becomes too precious and only good for driving down the Kings Road.
I have a friend who was at the ring just over a month ago. He said new RS' were there in abundance.

smile was referring to the width excluding wing mirrors - 63mm difference….mainly on the hips!
