Isn't it?

997.2 3.8 RS: Grey, definitely grey, but I think - lovely position to be in - I'd literally have to flip a coin to decide whether that would be with red or weiss gold.

Grey Black with Red would be my personal colour preference - I think it suits the car perfectly. I'm currently browsing and torn between the 997-2 GT3 RS and 991-1. I appreciate quite different cars but both appealing. The manual box may take it.
Honestly, I had both - sold the 991.1 GT3 , still have the 997.2 RS - honestly the 997.2 RS is epic smile

I ran this alongside a 991.1 GT3RS for a short while. I much preferred the 997. Gearbox played a massive part of that no doubt about it but it also just felt more special and had more drama about it to me.

These cars are at a level where performance no longer comes in to it, there both very quick and capable cars. For me it’s all about how a car makes you feel and the enjoyment it gives you.

I sold mine as I got caught up in wanting the newest/shiniest model. Definitely a lesson learnt.

Good advice - I agree with all of this smile

Bought mine at JZM, had a 991GT3.1, capable and enjoyable, but doesn't come close to the 997 as regards an 'event'

Mine was exactly like yours and I changed for a 991.1 GT3 again going for the new shiny thing, BIG BIG Mistake.

very true the 991 PDK was not in the same market, be interesting to put the 991.2 Manual VS one

I never even thought about getting a 991.1 GT3

Interesting that’s two people now - just shows how we can all get seduced by “new better” and realise it ain’t - This car is going to end up with iconic status - IMHO it’s one of their finest smile

Agree with this - 991.1 GT3 and 997.2 RS are completely different cars - 991.2 GT3 Manual May be closer (hope so !)

Not convinced. When I was buying, last year, I was considering GT3, not RS, but my theoretical budget could have stretched to 997.2or 991.1.
As although there's about £20k difference, on a car you're buying to keep, it's not huge.

IMHO it's the size of the car and the rear steer that make the whole difference in feel, not just the PDK vs manual.

FWIW I really liked the PDK and felt comfortable with it far, far sooner than I'd ever have guessed. I also liked the chassis too - but it's worlds apart, very much advanced over the 997 platform.

Manual... It's always going to be fun! I don't think you've much to worry about.

I was the same, never wanted a 991.1 and made it clear to my OPC I was only interested in a .2 if it was available with the manual box.

I have a couple of cars to sell before I start properly looking - I'm trying not to be tempted until they go!

Manual Cayman R wouldn't happen to be amongst the need to sell would it? wink
