Leather yes
Alcantara no, unless cab.
As Jimbo states, you don't need seat-heating, with alcantara.

This talk of resale value is a bit weird, too. You haven't even bought it yet and you're worrying about how to sell it? It's a strange world.

Very much this. If you are willing to buy it then someone else will. No options based car will have everything you want and that’s the luck of the draw when buying used. If this car has a much better spec than the other car surely there would be more times you would think “I miss...” whatever if you bought the one with heated seats over the much better specced cars.

Yep, very valid points, however I don't see this as a "forever" car, so wanted to see what the general consensus was on the importance of that option when it comes time to sell ... probably just over-thinking things (as I tend to do on occasion) !!

There are very few things that would mean a car wouldn’t sell. What they might impact on is price and how long it takes to sell (if you sell private). In my experience it’s usually big stuff like no PCM or GT car without buckets and stuff like that which tend to have that kind of impact but even then they will always find a buyer. Stop overthinking and buy the better spec car and if you’re partial to a warm bum then take a hot water bottle with you hehe

World’s going soft. Nobody needs heated seats. If rest of car is fine then get it bought

Utterly irrelevant to the driving experience. Buy a hot water bottle and sit on it if it matters that much

I wouldn't buy a car without them. In cooler weather or the winter I prefer heated seats and a low interior temp (17-18 C) as too warm a car puts me to sleep. I usually have a window open at least 10 cm unless it's raining or I'm driving at speed on a motorway. But to each their own.

Really? Do you or have you owned a cab or targa? You really think using a hot water bottle as an elegant solution to driving in colder climes with the roof open rather than engineered heated seats.
The OP isn’t buying a cab or a targa though

Lack of seats wouldn't put me off a car, I have them in my Cayman, I only use them for the first minute or so on a cold day and then I turn them off.

I was being facetious. I accept that we are all different but I would buy a 911 to engage me - not wipe my arse or warm it.
