250 were produced of the last Sports Classic. To all those waiting years i would throw a wobbler and say i ain't waiting two years to end up with a fuddy duddy run of the mill 992, demand to be put on a priority list.
Oi, that sounds like unobtanium, if I can’t get C2S, what is the odds they would trust me with Sports Classic?Cheib said:
Very unlikely I am afraid,,,,it’s one of those “if you have to ask” you won’t get one situations. I think I heard it’s speculated it is going to be a GT2 like spec….so Turbo powertain with RWD. Quite a different car to the 997 Sport Classic which was more about the looks than the “go”.
of the entire 992 range it could become the most highly sought after. Looks like our 992 orders will become 992.2 orders. I don’t see a problem with that, if only Porsche were willing to keep us updated. I do understand that we live in volatile times, but they must have a production schedule, which is updated as the situation unfolds.
When I was a young man and driving BMWs, I used to get production slot few days after placing an order. Then they would contact me if a car with similar spec was available sooner. Sadly, with all the modern tech and scheduling systems, some manufacturers remain opaque.
Wouldn’t it be cool to have a serial number of a bespoke premium car a year in advance?

As long as you don't mind the fact it will be a hybrid! It looks like the hybrid will be based on the Turbo S. So, an ultimate performance 911, with probably 800hp or something daft. And it’s not a PHEV, the batteries are self charging.
Looking at the facelift of the 992.2, they appear to have made big improvements to the backend, especially the sports exhaust. Looks like the 991.2 GTS with the pipes closer together, and almost GT3 like. That’s if the latest spy shots are to be believed and it’s not all camouflage.

Is it ever worth it? There are 45 992 S's for sale, the spec all blends into the 'usual-usual' - how far removed are those for sale from what your spec is? Not withstanding the supposed enjoyment of speccing from new, but surely the year long (and longer) order time (and uncertainty) why not just buy a used one?
Overs is probably the answer.Hi
Suggest you look at the “992 Allocations to the dealers” thread on Page 3.
My C4S ordered in Mid 2021 is due to be built in June. There have been quite a few allocations for base and S models over the last couple of months - mine included and that thread shows orders are being fulfilled. I have asked my dealer recently about delays due to Ukraine and his response was that they can see their cars are still being built to the schedule they expect and they are receiving completed cars. It’s worth pointing out that 992.2 production won’t start until the second half of 2023 and will be just after a price rise as that’s how it’s normally scheduled. Russia doesn’t take many 911s so that won’t have freed up much - it’s mainly Macon’s, Cayennes etc built in
Leipzig.
Hope that helps.

Nice information and very much in line with what my dealer informed me last week.Suggest you look at the “992 Allocations to the dealers” thread on Page 3.

Very interesting… thanks for the reference point, so you are on 12-months lead time. I can live with that. Interesting that my OPC didn’t get any 911 base and S cars in the last 6 months, so maybe its time for our allocations.Suggest you look at the “992 Allocations to the dealers” thread on Page 3.

According to my dealer before the allocations in the last month or two their last base/S allocation was July 2021 and that car was delivered in October. Allocations are apparently being done on a strict order date basis across the UK which may explain the apparent discrepancies across dealers.

I have heard the same feedback from my OPC, I.e. order dates are reviewed across the country. I understand that Porsche GB has got central visibility of the orders with dates, but it is the DP decision who actually gets a car.I have been 4th in the C2S queue for the last 5 months (Dec—May). What are the chances of sudden production run to clear the backlog?
I am now mentally preparing myself for 2023MY vehicle, probably 992.2.
I pref the 992 front bumper and lights. The ‘sloth-eyes’ stuck on the sides of the 992.2 bumper look out of place.

Do you mean the running lights the test cars are wearing? I believe those are only temporary and won’t be on the final design. Pivo said:
