Stunning. Well done.
Yes, it's the one from JZM, collected it a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely loving it and still grinning! Very pleased and also surprised that I bought it considering I wanted a standard looking car and any colour apart from black...
So originally ignored it on the website but after seeing a black GT3 in the flesh started to change my mind, gave them a call and the rest is history.
Only problem has been the lower that standard ride height and deeper motorsport splitter, it took me exactly 24h to lose it! Now staying off which spoils the front look slightly but avoids constant fear of damaging it.
911p - yes, we popped round, thought we were on stealth mode but I think you caught us![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Not at all. I like that. I can't tell on my phone screen, are they proper 3D letters or a vinyl decal?
Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking?
Can't wait to get my house done and get my garage done out like my last one.

At the time I had a 996 GT2 in the stable as well as the Zanzibar car. I sold that and bought a well specced Gen 1 997 GT3 from OPC Swindon. That didn't float my boat so I bought the stunning, low mileage 996 GT3 RS from 911V. That too didn't float my boat, so I bought my current Manthey modified Mk1 996 GT3.
To that I added the Speed Yellow Mk1 996 GT3 Richard (Jackal) has pictured in this thread above my images. I sold that and I'm currently left with the 964 RS and the Manthey modified Mk1. So probably fair to say, yes, I have bought another car !
Two v nice cars i now remember the yellow RS very nice. I cant remember your dislikes with the 996 RS ?To that I added the Speed Yellow Mk1 996 GT3 Richard (Jackal) has pictured in this thread above my images. What rear wing do you have there? Is it the 996 RS or the standard 996 GT3 with different end plates? So originally ignored it on the website but after seeing a black GT3 in the flesh started to change my mind, gave them a call and the rest is history.

Just didn't gel with it. More than likely needed much more time setting up the ride height/corner weights and finding a geo setup that I could work with (along with some new tyres all round)
Didn't like the graphics, didn't like the wheels, didn't particularly like the slab of carbon on the engine lid.
Having owned a Zanzibar GT3, a Rubystone 964 RS and a Guards red 993 RS with Clubsport spoilers, I think it's fair to say I'm no shrinking violet. Yet when I got stuck in a traffic jam on the M42 in the 996 RS for nearly half an hour, for the first time ever, I felt a real prize c*ck in my "racing car" with the naff stickers, dodgy wheels and "a plank of carbon on the boot".
I decided against a Gen 997 GT3 RS in Orange for the same reason. I bought a stealthy Slate grey Gen 1 997 GT3 with CGT seats and ceramics instead.
I thought the engine was a bit characterless (needed a noisier exhaust) and short on torque (went well at the top end mind) Didn't particularly like the pointy steering, thought the dampers and springs were too hard for anything other than billiard table smooth roads. Pretty much the polar opposite of the Mk1 GT3 in other words .....
All the above will of course prompt the question "Why the f*ck did you buy it then !! ?"
Well, after I'd written off the Zanzibar car, I really wanted to try something different (remember, I'd already sold the Zanzibar car once and bought it back !!) The RS seemed to tick a lot of boxes, more modern than the Mk1, more powerful, just as raw, rare, firm residuals etc etc.
In the RS's defence, my confidence was at an all time low after writing the Zanzibar car off. Despite several long drives in the RS I just never trusted it.
I drove my Manthey'ed Mk1 back to back with the RS, and it felt like slipping on an old pair of shoes. Even on Cups in cold, slimy conditions, I felt I could push it hard. The Manthey car gave me back my confidence behind the wheel of as 911, and I'm grateful to it for that.
Despite the fact i own one i cant really disagree with much of that.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

But its not like i use the RS that often so im fairly relaxed with its looks and the ride is without doubt a bit waring but obviously that can be dialed out and again i dont drive it much so its not a chore for me.
Funny you mention not trusting it maybe thats due to the crash you had? but also having been used to a 997 gen 1 with TC i also at times arent 100% with it unless its completely dry (also i managed to bin the 997 as well)
This said i need to use the RS in the summer (if that ever happens!!) though i can maybe see myself getting the geo/tyres adjusted at some stage.
Pics of your manthey car? cheers
Lovely spec nice looking car too. Im with you in that the RS needs to make a little more noise especially coming from a 997 gt3 but im loathed to tamper with it. I was thinking the 996 gt3 was a bit of a bargain then they all vanished!
Here's hopeing the weather finally improves so i can get the RS out. Bon weekend!

Cool. Thanks. I may keep an eye out for those. I'll leave the unstable plant though. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
