I have been informed PTS is now available to order on these cars, I am still waiting on a update for the bucket seats.
Interesting! Do you know an approx cost for PTS?

I was told it’s doubled in price - around £6,800 now. First cars with PTS will be April/May build.

I imagine the two cars would work very well together - a perfect pairing. (I have a manual 991.2 GT3 & a 991.2 GTS and it works for me)

I thought this shot of the green looked really strong - not sure how representative it is? If this picture is representative, then I think it's a great colour !

Spec’d the car today and really looking forward to it now. Like you say I think it’s going to be a good partner to the GT3.

Aventurine green isn’t like the image you posted unfortunately. The actual swatch sample has a lot more grey in it but I still liked it another to order.

I’m sure the colour will look different when you see it on larger panels and I think it’s great to see a green back on the palette.

Looks really good to me - virtually a metallic dark grey with a hint of green - like it smile

What’s your spec ?

No, I wasn't given any price as I thrown them a curve ball by asking for buckets. So they have gone to find out for me, I was due a call yesterday but once I get updated ill let you know.

how long does it take to build a 911? Is it around 3 days? And I take it it’s around a 4 week turn around time to dealer once built?

You’re right about the colour it’s going to look grey in most lights but I think I’m going to like it.

Was very unsure of the interior being so digital but have spent a few months in a golf R and have got used to the digital displays so much less reticent than I was last year.

Gone for slight retro spec and a little more touring so it can sit comfortably alongside the GT3. Main options are glass sunroof, LED’s, Carrera classic wheels, window trims in chrome, sport tec trim, sport chrono, suspension -10mm, Bose, plus some interior options to personalise it.

No RWS and no sports exhaust (first time no sports exhaust on a P car so I hope that’s not a mistake)!

Hopefully collection late March or April ready for a couple of road trips.

Anyone asked got factory collection? Any quotes on costs yet? Mind will be built on 22nd March, so I guess collection would be that week if you can do it!

Yes, and the answer was that there are no Factory Collections available due to Brexit. Porsche GB dictum apparently...

Sounds very nice congrats and enjoy ; Really like the sport tex trim & love the wheels (I’d add the black to them) Not 100 % sure about the non SE ; with the P filter it may need all the help it can get in the noise dept - but no one really knows yet . Not that I’m in the market for one but if I was, I’d choose the same colour and wheels but also put the sport deign kit on the nose.

Re the dials comment - I’d love it if there was a button that, once fluids are up to temp , that you could press to turn off every didgital dial so all you had to look at was the rev counter (& the other dials only came back on if there was an issue) - I had a Saab back in the day and they had a “night mode” that did similar. smile

I think the rear looks better with the 4 exhaust pipes

Damn - just hopped back in the configurator and the sport classic are grey painted inside. And there is no option to change to black. At least I know now and won’t be disappointed at collection time! I think I’ve had too much Alcantara recently and the Golf is leather and tbh I don’t really like full leather so sport tex is a good compromise. The new pattern appears chequered on the OPC configurator so will hopefully turn out well. If they made it in espresso leather with crayon stitch a sport tex I think that would be perfect with the green.

I’m hoping I’ll still hear the F6 engine without the sports exhaust. TBH I found the pops and farts overrun a bit Fake and embarrassing on the 991.2GTS so I used to drive in sport+ and manual mode to get a little extra sound without pops.

Do you know if you’ll be able to do things like add Sharkwerks bypasses with the new filters?

Used to love night mode on my Saab and totally agree that would be really cool on a Porsche now there is so much tech. It was one of the coolest features along with the centre key.

I will say I don’t know how all this tech will work on a GT3. I view my 992 as being sports GT road car so I don’t mind a big sat nav etc. Wouldn’t want it on my GT3 though where I tend to turn everything off when driving.

I will admit I’m a bit of a Porsche fanboy, but I will definitely be honest and let you know if the new interior is a step too far.

FWIW i read a pre-launch driving review in the US where the journalists remarked that the non GPF US spec 992s made a much better noise compared to the muffled GPF Eu cars driven..

Didn’t realise you couldn’t make those wheels black - my bad , it’s the ones that look like modern Fuchs where you can do this. Still love your wheels though.

The outside of the car is really growing on me* , especially the front (with sports kit) and the side - I like the flared fronts now too. Jury is still out on the rear for me, it’s very high and wedge like IMHO , but may look nice in the metal. The inside is where I struggle the most - purely down to the dials and gear lever - I really like the switches though.

Taken in the round though, it’s a really nice move on and I’m sure will sell very well. I’m not sure I’d be rushing to swap a wide bodied 991.2 for one as it’s basically a facelifted version of this car, but if I was in the market for a new DD this would work very well for me.

Not sure about SWBP - Chris at APB Motorsport would know - he’s on here. Agree about the pops and farts - horrid. I’ll try your tip of sports plus/ manual in the GTS. In truth, the 991.2 already sounds crap, so I suppose we’ve already given up the glorious noise of a NA flat 6 frown

Enjoy your new toy.

PS Funny you had a Saab too - loved that car smile

  • * edited to add - I really don’t like the cab version though - it’s gone back to the hump backed version like the 997 - the 991 cab is so much nicer - all just MHO smile

I have never used the sports exhaust on my GT4 ... and on track it's a nuisance ...

It's dangerous and confusing listening to everyone's option choices... hehe

My latest effort - http://www.porsche-code.com/PL1PACE9.

I'm not brave enough to go Aventurine. I do like the silvers though.

I can't decide between these 2 specs:

1) Guards Red, Slate Grey Interior, Silver Exhaust / Not De-badged - http://www.porsche-code.com/PLVMWG64
2) Guards Red, Black Interior, Black Exhaust, Black Badges - http://www.porsche-code.com/PLPEUMD5

I submitted 2 originally... now I'm thinking 1 is better... so hard to pick!!!!

Edit... maybe this - http://www.porsche-code.com/PL2M2E28

Hmm, hard decision without seeing any cars in the flesh!

Personally, I like 1. I went with grey/crayon myself as black is so dull.

I've been scouring the web to find pictures of anything similar, no luck so far!
