Yep! Cheers, am more than a little obsessed with the thing. On topic though, I've driven OEM 996 GT3 road cars and thought they're lovely, perhaps those that don't enjoy them aren't the target demographic?
Nail hit firmly on its head methinks smile

Oh ****!

So he was the one who bought that gorgeous Manthey from JZM then? A mate was looking at it too and sent me the link to it - spec was amazing.

Hope he enjoys it. thumbup

Morning T, I hope you’re well ?
I hope David enjoys his new steed. It sounds like he’s driver rather than a polisher smile

Slippy tks for sharing those pics of my now car! Actually i quite like the BBS although i'm chuffed with the car and its current looks.

La Source is right i'm very pleased with her. The car presents brilliantly and a few tweaks for me suspension wise and it'll be just perfect.

The car want for nothing. The spec is perfect and that Manthey at 6k revs is just insane!

JZM did a lot of work before the sale including a full major service, bottom half respray, new wheels and tyres, full PPF and a few other bits and bobs.
The deal is that as its currently set up for track and my main usage will be road i can take it back and have it set for fast road which i'll be doing.

For me the car just ticked the boxes in that if i wanted to created a car like that it's exactly what i'd had built but of course the costs would have been more so i'm all in happy with the detail and the price hence jumping at it as soon as it came on.

So now just have to go out and enjoy her. WIll endevour to keep the thread updated but for now tks for all the help from those on her and other forums

Thanks Henry for rubbing salt in the wound.;) FWIW the mate Digga was referring to was my good self..Just as i was plucking up the courage to phone JZM with a view of placing a deposit i saw the dreaded ''Reserved'' sign on it..At least it seems to have gone to a good home where it'll get driven as its maker intended.thumbup

Sorry Taffy for once i was quick off the mark with this one and i really didn't hang around.

I saw it the saturday before last and drove it and headed over the on the Monday only to be told that they were taking it off and keeping it and it was no longer for sale.

I had a long chat with Russ who wasn't on the premises at the time and we ended up do the deal. Probably as i've dealt with JZ in the past.

Anyway, i'll not be murdering the car as it'll be road use pretty much but if i ever decide to move on i'll keep you in the loop.

This is one VERY sorted GT3 i can tell you and i've had a few in my time.

Hi David, glad you’ve joined the ranks of disciples ready to preach the delights of a Manthey’ed Mk 1 GT3 between 6-8K rpm. It’s something very special, and the perfect blend of aircooled RS and watercooled GT cars.
Once you’ve sorted the chassis set up, you’ll have a lot of fun behind the wheel smile

Rubbing of salt in wound definitely not intended !! I came within a hairs breathe of buying the same car several years ago, I couldn’t quite agree terms, so I walked.
But if you want another special Mk 1 996 GT3, I may have just the thing for you ... smile

Ahhh I remember the last time that car was for sale.

Congratulations @GT3Manthey

@Taffy - speak to Dan911, I think his might be for sale? Manthey Gen1, and it’s yellow! I saw it last year at a show and it’s a beauty.

Ha, I sat in that car (and the red 964 behind it) at JZM's showroom back in 2013 when I started browsing 996 GT3s and 964s.

Choice was thin on the ground at that time. I needed something without a roll cage so that I could get kids in the back, so kept looking.

I didn't know the significance of the mods back then. May the new owner enjoy in good health!! thumbup

Many tks. Car and i going nowhere at the mo as family member unwell so we're in lockdown.

Once the good weather is with us it'll be out and about.

The spec is amazing and been lavished on over the years. I'm having it set for fast road as the suspension was too stiff for our bad roads.

If caught, I'd imagine they'll ask you to go home

Maybe if caught a few times, a fine? Develop a cough = no prison time.

People will still need to food shop and carry on with work. You just happen to take the long way

Other European countries have an escalating series of fines, but it's worth noting that the UK police are about to benefit from new legislation stating that they can intern you if they suspect you are infected.
