Today I took advantage of being on standby, to clean up the drivers side front and rear jacking points, then had to repair the plastic mud flap thing, the clip that’s glued to it had completely rusted away. so I made a new clip from some spare ally plate I found.
Then I degreased the wheel arches, which led to derusting and painting the crossmember, as it was nasty, and I couldn’t face leaving it. Wire brush in the drill, followed by some rust converter, also did the front strut body, which was crusty too.
So, all the red and black bits painted, then finished off with some wax oil stuff in an aerosol.
Some pics.

I forgot to take a pic of the finished jacking points, they are now red instead of rusty brown!

ow... I feel sorry for you ;-)

I know such can cost a lot of time to do it as good as you can or have time to do, but... ones done it gives a great feeling for knowing all is protected and in a good state now, compare that with the then knowing of the surface rust on your pride and Joy.

Great job there!

I think that's the tyre pressure sensor reader. I could be wrong but if you have one in each wheel well, then that's probably it!

ah indeed handy stuf, have such for my Z3 s65 in my garage, fits very good, so also better protection, less damaging.

I hate rust with a passion, it’s just so ugly.
It wasn’t too bad a job tbh, just a days work. So, one more day will cover for the other side hopefully.

Yes, as soon as I saw the crusty Jack points, I ordered a set of 4 from eBay.
