What are the thoughts on the front axle lift? I’m going for the standard -20mm drop and wondered if others with this set up had experienced any problems with speed bumps etc?
I had some reservations about my local speed bumps and I didn't fancy paying for axle lift, so my OPC kindly brought their demonstrator to my house and we drove all the local speed bumps. One speed bump was slightly higher than the rest and the car just scraped as we went over the bump. The underside of the car has some plastic fins (I'm sure there is a technical term!) that point down and one of these scraped the speed bump, with a bit more care the scrape would have been avoided.

If you can stretch to it, I would recommend adding to your spec.
On the same theme I found the front lift system very quick to raise & lower compared with other manufacturers, maybe 5 seconds and it will raise at speeds up to 20mph.

Do not need it,absolute waste of money .I worried over it but car dealt with everything no problem and I encounter large speed bumps and steep car parks most days

Agreed, not needed unless you have an extremely steep approach to a drive or something.

OPC Silverstone have just got their demo Gelb Grun manual coupe back in stock...nearly bought it in the summer but couldn't persuade myself to pull the trigger.

Hi All

GTS 2 coupe ordered in guards red & like many others on here now worried about spec. It's a nice problem to have but all views gratefully received.

Still not sure about the following
PDK or Manual - I am no racing driver so is PDK worth the extra for easy driving ?
Front axle lift - OPC advised yes but most on here say no
Rear apron painted - I am having it painted black as I think it might look better & easier to clean than the black plastic.
Speed limit display - useful or annoying?

Is it correct I can't have rear wheel steering without the PDCC.

98% of my main cars have been manual, but I went pdk with the gts and loved it.Its a very personal thing, but as dct/auto boxes go the pdk system is now superb.
Lift is absolutely not necessary imo.
I had rws but no pdcc so not sure where you heard that.

I'm leaving the front axle lift off my order, enough owners on here have said they have been fine without it.

RWS I am undecided. Hopefully there may be a chance to test drive and see the difference

Have Speed Limit display on our Cayenne...I find it useful. Mrs Cheib clearly doesn't though given she's just got a speeding ticket!

It's me being an idiot you can have rws as an option on it's own.
If you choose pdcc you then have to have the rws option.

rws will now be ordered & front axle lift cancelled.

Thanks

I originally specced my GTS as a manual, however when I tried both at the PEC I changed to PDK. The PDK works very well and I thought it matched the car, I went manual as I enjoy the input but fair play to Porsche, there is no lack of input with their auto box should you choose to use the functions available.

As others point out, it is a personal thing but getting some driving time with the different types of gearbox is the best way of finding out what works best for you.

Thanks for all the advice/help on here, much appreciated. I just pulled the trigger! Build completion date showing as mid-Feb. Went for a GTS Coupe, manuel, Night Blue, glass sunroof, GTS alcantara pack grey stitching/belts, rear steer, Bose and lots of other nice stuff. I’m properly excited as my first ever 911, can’t wait!! Hopefully it will turn up in time so I can drive it to the Geneva motor show to run it in!

Thanks for all the useful comments re front axle lift. I have decided to do without it.
I’ve been given a lockdown date of Feb 2nd, so still plenty of time to play with the configuration!

Build completion end of jan. Arrival mid feb. Seem to be accelerating the whole process and bringing 991 builds forward by three weeks.

With full leather interior? The Alcantara pack is more popular so only silver or red with that.

I don’t like Alcantara so have gone for full leather in Graphite Blue (GT Matallic silver body). Debating over the acid green deviated stitching to add a bit of colour and zing to the interior, but keep changing my mind! It would be good to see another one like this before lockdown on Feb 2nd! Google doesn’t show much...
