Who's that directed at, chum?
Certainly not you or anyone else in particular just a generalisation on typical Pistonheads. Really like your new 992 Turbo Cabrio and already too fast without needing to resort to the S.
Fair enough Taffy! Less than two weeks to go on the turbo :-)

Fwiw, I actually like JWW's content. Same with TGE (a large degree of "I know this is all a bit daft" self-deprecation from him). Given the chance, I'd take a 992 GT3 allocation in a heartbeat.

I do think OPCs could just dispense with the song and dance and just say words to the effect of "allocations are based on commercial benefit". Loyalty, proximity and "true petrolheaded-ness" have nothing to do with it.

Anyway, I'm a mug for buying a few Porsche cars this year from different OPCs / groups. banghead

What are we collectively angry about now? PPF standards?
Err, Did anyone ever think this is about anything other than money.

Money , route of all evil always is.
We know it, they know it, even the OPC's Business Manager's cockapoo knows it.

Rather than writing muppetry though, they should just level with us. A smarter way would be to engage in dialogue. What's your buying history, here's the kind of history which gets you on the list.

But then, they have no shortage of customers. It's a minor chuckle and a minor irritant, at worst.

If anyone is looking for a 992 GT3, there is a brand new PTS available at a dealer in the south of France.
I was passing today and thought I would call in to have a general look and there it was. Available at list, albeit LHD

I genuinely don’t think Perth have done themselves any good by handing this guy another GT3 to add to his collection

I would have much preferred to watch a video or read about a local enthusiast taking delivery of his dream first GT3 after waiting patiently for possibly years!

But no they decided to allocate to someone who already has plenty.

He also gives me the impression if he was made of chocolate he would eat himself

Perth are a small dealership, as such they will I strongly suspect have had a smaller allocation of GT cars than say the much bigger dealers down South - as such that makes entertaining this guy even more irritating to those local guys who as you say have waited years.

So, a general question as to how long do people think they will keep building the 992 GT3 for….. End 2023?

It’s a tricky one this, as what with the sheer lack of
Semi-Conductors and eBay I have been ready with Malaysia saying things are only going to get worse! Presently I can’t see the end of the tunnel in regards to if they will or won’t!

Well assuming the .1 runs for two more years then the .2 will be out two years after that…. You reckon that in 4 years or so no more NA GT Porsche?

The truth is nobody knows as all future timing and types of new cars introduced are dictated by the over zealous unelected EU bureaucrats. However my guess the next gen GT3 will appear sometime middle 2025 and will have some form of assistance.

Jeez, do people really think he bought the GT3 himself. It all came out after the Yaris PR disaster. He has a sugar daddy that buys the cars who he is local to Perth. You can work out the rest.

Must be hard for a business to say no though, how much would it cost to get your name in front of 600k people in your target market using traditional methods I wonder?

It’d be dumb for them to say no

Yikes. What happened to Porsche dealerships not being allowed to publicly advertise flipped cars within 6/12 (can’t remember which) months? Didn’t that come from Porsche GB? Seems to have gone out the window anyway. The price is quite ridiculous, I really hope someone doesn’t pay that.

Stupidly ambitious price from a greedy flipper/OPC and a real kick in the teeth to all the true Porsche enthusiasts who couldn't get an allocation. A blatant disregard to the pretend anti flipping policy from Porsche GB. Not going to do Porsche's image any good whatsoever and will drive loyal customers towards other brands leaving only the flippers behind.

I think Brooklands has slightly different rules. They are just a service centre and used retailer - no new cars. I remember a guy from Reading OPC telling me once
