Mentioned it before I specced my 2018 Guards red 991.2 T manual with basic comfort spec and T pack only and gave it back to my OPC in 2019 at which time there were two other lightly used Ts my OPC was selling but both PDK high spec one with buckets one with sunroof all 3 were sub 2k miles and good colours all at similar price.

Remarkably mine sold first at around list ££ and the other two hung around evidently they took less for the high spec black PDK sunroof T some 3 months later.

Read into that what you will.

991T was billed as an enthusiasts car, I think it will attract more people wanting manuals.

Mine is coming in April. Deposit 30/11. Confirmed the spec 3 weeks ago.

Metallic Black, manual, rear seats, option wheel, RWS, front axle lift, as we have a steep entrance to the drive, 18-way seats, T interior and some racetex fripperies.

really looking forward to getting it, don't really care if people think its overspec'd - I've bought the car for me, not the next owner. It will be my "daily" but I only manage 3000 miles a year, as it is now, so shouldn't be an issue.

Had been considering a 991T and then the 2T was launched - so decided to push the button.

Haven't had one for a while, last ones were a 996 Turbo S and a 993 RS rep (mega spec with a 3.8 power pack and RS cams - for sale at the minute at JZM, if your looking for something a bit special - the car epic, extremely usable, fantastic to drive but for thinner arses than mine) so will be interesting to compare!!

think this is still being marketed the same based around the weight saving - "the 911t has a performance focus thanks to it's reduced weight"

In theory the 992 actually has double the weight saving of the 991t because the lightweight battery saves 10kg but I am not sure actually because the pdk adds in 35kg (1,480 v 1515 for the carrera s), and porsche states:

pdk T Unladen weight (DIN) (PDK) 1,505 kg
pdk Carrera - Unladen weight (DIN) (PDK) 1,505 kg

this implies there actually isn't any weight saving other than what comes from the pdk to manual change

It’s an age old debate isn’t it! My current T is my first PDK Porsche and despite the naysayers I really do love it.

One thing I’ll say is it takes a long time to appreciate it, the salesman talked me into trying it and I didn’t like it all at first. It seemed to have a mind of its own and seemed either too slow in normal, or holding onto gears too long in sport and sport plus was even worse.

Porsche know what they’re doing and with time it makes complete sense.

The shaver in the 992 does seem a step backwards admittedly as you lose the ability to use the gear knob, who knows they might change that in the gen 2 though! Porsche are good at that after all!

Congratulations on the allocation ... I agree, spec the car for you and the way you want to use it not for the next owner. If I get an allocation the biggest debate - apart from colour - will be audio. The standard audio is pretty lifeless so unless Bose comes back I will go Burmester. I can understand why people would think that is overkill but I hate poor audio, would annoy me every time I am sat in traffic or doing boring motorway miles,

I got stuck on M3 yesterday… stop-start for 5 miles… I wished I had PDK at that point. ;-)

It is flawless as an auto too! For me it’s almost a no brainer but I still appreciate a manual.

I’d say the new T with PDK could be absolutely amazing the latest PDK is even better apparently..

100% agree re the audio but I just can bring myself to spec the Burmester at over £3k. For info my dealer has a question in with Porsche GB to see if Bose will ever become an option on the T.

It would be good to know whether Bose will ever be an option. I'm guessing probably not - similar for buckets and ceramics.

I must take the latest PDK for a ride. The Braun shaver stick does not excite me much, but I feel sorry for the MT clutch taking a beating in heavy traffic.

The PDK box is good , with quick gear changes, but surely the T needs to be a manual or you’re paying a premium over a base Carrera for nothing . Unless it’s the only way you can get an early allocation.

But you wouldn’t buy a ‘T’ for sitting in traffic.

Having said that, the MT on the 991 T (7-spd) was very easy in gridlocked towns - light clutch, smooth gearchange and the torquey turbo engine, meant it hardly needs constant changes.

See thats the magic of Porsche, where a pdk box is a 2k extra on many of their cars…..

The price different seems to be almost made up in options added over the base model (pasm not available on base)

Wheels £1145
Wheel colour £842
Pasm sports suspension £665
4 way seats £342
Sport chrono £1683
Sports exhaust £2054
Lightweight glass / tint £1020
Gt s wheel £194
Interior in colour £742
Side graphics £160
LSD £?

I don’t think anyone is buying a car for sitting in traffic.

Changing gears is fine… standing with clutch depressed every 5 metres is not good for the clutch

I am expecting 992.2 C2S by the end of the year, a T is an interim car available right away.

Like the 991 Carrera T, the 992 T (with a manual gearbox) gets a mechanical locking limited slip differential.

When the clutch pedal is fully depressed and the clutch is not engaged, I don’t see how you think this is bad for the clutch.
