Porsche have a nice way of putting this ... supply of a halo car is by invitation ...

What do you have to do to get an invitation ? Be a good customer to that particular OPC which involves buying lot of cars in a short time, taking finance, adding extras such as PPF and of course having the car serviced by the OPC (why wouldn't you).

This is why I will be pleased when the gravy-train of "overs" on a wide range of Porsche models stops, because any normal person who buys cars to keep and use will be most unlikely to ever get on the current gravy-train, heaven forbid that they may be a Porsche enthusiast having supported the brand for years.

Of course you are free to opt out of the system at any stage ... by keeping a car a long time or heaven forbid, cashing-in and selling it privately.

Being a good customer sounds a very laudable ambition ... it is amazing how the concept can be so quickly corrupted in the good times and Porsche stock holders are now paying the price for this, in more ways than one. How short term ... when the brand has just celebrated its 75th anniversary.

So what precisely does the new ST represent ... lovely as it is in concept ? We shall see ...

Seem to recollect in the recent past there was a thread concerning JLR trying to enforce a non flipping agreement but couldn't.

Ferrari have also tried this in the UK.

Basically it is the customers car so customers choice what they do with it.

If it's been sold that may be the case, but if it is actually leased for the first year with an option to purchase at the end of year one, then it remains owned by Porsche during the life of the lease and it clearly cannot be sold.

Does anyone on this forum have a 992 S/T build allocation?

Apparently UK has a sizeable allocation of S/T's ... not sure if the production is in full swing yet(?)

I dont think actual allocations have been given out yet, although some people have been told that they are getting a car and have paid deposits and submitted specs etc. I have been told by a very reliable source first UK cars go into build around Feb 24. Numbers i'm hearing are 3 for larger dealers and 1-2 for rest, with circa 150 cars for UK atm. I waiting to hear about PTS and Sonderwunch which seems to be delaying thing further.

Have to say having seen and hear what it sounds like,a very underwhelming car,a gt3 is a better buy.

I think if you are into a Singer and wanted the heritage trim then it has some appeal.

But most will not be driven and if not an "investment" I really wonder why ?

Also the OPC dealer hoops are deeply unsettling for this car at this price ... IMHO ... where is all the light weighting in the actual weight ?

150 cars in the UK is actually quite a lot at this level ... I would guess there may be more if the UK is 10% of 1963 units ??

The 996 GT3RS was around 550 units worldwide and the UK got over 100 ... and still they are not achieving the kind of value that they probably deserve ... again IMHO.

Maybe it's just the Porsche B/S machine in full flight ... ??

Interesting points… as per the Spanish-speaking comedian… 1963 cars? Who is going to count all units across all markets biggrin

I was told this week that my OPC had a ST that was finishing build this month for delivery next month. Don’t shoot the messenger, just what I was told from a good contact.

Thats great news. I stand corrected then! Know of a few people who will be getting them and have all been told that they will coming next year and built through to end of 24. I'm in no rush anyway as ran a GT3 and 4RS through last winter, which was fun but didnt allow me to push these cars as much as i would have liked to.

I was reading on another forum this is the last manual for Europe and UK due to the upcoming Euro 7 regulations. Anybody else heard this or know anything about it?

I have an allocation on the system (I've physically seen the computer and the allocation against my name) for a February 2024 build. Provisionally told PTS available. My OPC (a smaller one) has one car allocated to them.

That is amazing @TDP

I am keen to hear how it compares to your 992T and the 992 GT3 Touring.

PS. @TDP, may I add your 992 S/T to the 'Order to Delivery' thread?

Happy for you to do so. The GT3 will depart on the delivery of the S/T, but the Carrera T is staying.

Amazing stables! When did you place an order for the S/T and when did you get the allocation? I think the limited edition cars are on a fast track.

Looking forward to your comparison: Carrera T vs GT3 vs Carrera S/T
