It’s a reflective strip similar to the C4S, bonded to the engine lid, from when I went to see that car.

To remove it might require paint etc. Not a deal breaker for most, but purists would maybe prefer it removed.

Cup style steering wheels. Is it the Momo wheel that's nigh on identical? Do I need a resistor for the air bag to stop the light coming on?

I have the Momo version on mine. Identical other than missing the Porsche script on the spoke. Even has a Porsche horn push.

I bought a kit off eBay (about half the price of the Porsche wheel). Came with the wheel, boss and resistor.

Finding an earth for the horn proved challenging!

Same, it's a great steering wheel and the £200(?) saved by not having those 7 small letters was spent on fuel enjoying the thing!

Agreed on the Earth as well - I'm a dab hand with spanners but glad the electrical specialist at GCR Leicester was able to sort mine by making a plate.

Did you need a resistor for the airbag?

Yes, you need a resistor to turn the airbag warning light off... or it will fail the MOT.

And some testers will fail it for having had the airbag wheel removed- I had to refit the original wheel for him to pass it.

You could look at it as asset transfer, how much did the classic cars you sold actually owe you? That will be the actual cost of the 996. Man math at it's best wink
If he didn't get 23k when the market was buoyant he might need to adjust the price, unless he doesn't really need to sell it in which case you need to dig deep!
Well it’s been a few weeks and using the finer points of man maths to justify my purchase the car is mine. I had to dig deep, but the owner knocked it to a sensible amount that I can live with but hey what price happiness smile drove it back to London last night, absolutely over the moon with it and finally have my ultimate spec 996 in the garage

Currently sitting on the drive, probably the first drop of rain it’s seen in a long while it’s certainly had a pampered life. Making some space in the garage for it this afternoon smile

I was thinking about one for mine. Didn't know they were even available. I think it would look better without the Carrera badge.

It doesn't seem to match the rear lights, too dark?

Just remove the Carrera script, they don't need anything there. Less is more!

Saw your post on the FB group. Lovely car. That photo doesn't do it full justice.

Some nice options, not sure if the special colour is a pearl and not stock carrera white. Lose the decals, gt3 spoiler and it would be a cool aero car.

Think it was featured on YouTube by Living Life Like a Lunatic wink

In around 2008 the car was involved in a very minor accident which put a small Dent in the front bumper (I have photographs of the damage) a very minor incident but classed the car as a V- car, Quite unfortunate as it truly is a magnificent car and the damage was just a cracked bumper!
