An interesting intersection of prices - two £124k cars both with 16k miles...

Hmmm that second car is interesting... Porsche GT3 3.8, Gen 2, Metallic Meteor Grey (2009) and it's manual not pdk!https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Theres a relatively lowly spec late 14 64 plater in red, no leather, sports seats, 5k miles apparantly, grade 4 some bodywork required in BCA Nottingham (already unsold at Blackbushe apparantly) on the 21st of this month.
£100k? Depends on history etc.
I wold think that's the max the trade would pay for it if it has FPSH. £100k? Depends on history etc.
I had two 997's and loved them .
I sat in one at RPM the other day and after owning a GT4 it so dated .
I guess that's pretty obvious but I'll not be buying another one although they are a great sounding GT3.
Personally I think the 996 and 997 GT3 are overpriced now hence a few for sale.
991 GT3 great cars . Value wise maybe they get close to list but that'll be it . Not sure you can use that power on the road however

Not saying it isn't warranted, but the vendor says 5k but Bca say 10k.
But with 5k it books at £117500 Cap Clean....clearly too much, especially with the spec.
Even with good provenance and history, £100k would be my top bid.

Agree on the GT4. Better road car imo than the 997 GT3 3.8.991 GT3 great cars . Value wise maybe they get close to list but that'll be it . Not sure you can use that power on the road however
Good spec mileage and history 991 GT3s still get good money.
Witness the Riviera 15 plater 10k miles with ceramics and top spec but 3 ish owners recently and quickly sold by Rybrook Specialist cars advertised at £135k.
Great road car btw, but more 'detached' than the GT4 for this use at least.

I actually think if you're a manual man then the current GT4 could be the 'car for keeps' . Good spec mileage and history 991 GT3s still get good money.

If you are a manual spirited road driver it would be the 981 Spyder IMHO - but we've already done this to death & in fairness I'm probably wrong in the context of a GT3
Yes whilst the GT4 is possibly the 'sweet spot' for road use, as already said numerous times it is somewhat let down by its non GT car engine whereas there is no such 'pretence' with the 981 Spyder which, for road use, is just as rapid and possibly more engaging too with its back to basics ethos. (tyres, virtually no aero and non GT3 front suspension).Maybe the GT4 to the 981 Spyder is what the GT3 is to the 911R.
Just a thought.

Any views on price from here cars dropping quickly with the new GT3 .
Further to fall or get in now ?
They will fall, even more, they are basically unreliable, less powerful versions of either the 991 GT3 RS or the new 991.2 and less fun than the 997 and to slow anyways (to justify the PDK) for the new batch of competitors or the close future.Further to fall or get in now ?
If you want a cheap track car, just get one and make sure you have one with warranty and that you push it as much as possible, so you blow the engine off and you can get the updated engine (more reliable).
