Yep, me too.
C4S looks nice, but certainly feels bigger and is less nimble to drive. Another 175kg is a fair bit to be lugging around.

Early C2 for me, in fact I have just purchased a 98 cable throttle, m030, LSD, TC,sports seats and aero kitted, gt3 wheels shod C2. It does have a sunroof and is silver but the plus points far outweigh this. It's a lovely nimble car coming from my previous Boxster and worth locating one because these will appreciate as time moves on.

I hope it’s not got a GR3 badge on it, some will right it off

Biased as mine is this spec, but I love me an Aerokitted 996!

Mines an early 996.1 in guards red, I wouldn't change a thing (except maybe some BBS LM's as mentioned by me repeatedly elsewhere laugh )

No GT3 badge on my Aerokitted, cable-throttled, non-sunroof, silver early 996 smile

To do list is
Clutch kit & Arm
Main seal
Low temp stat
AOS
Coil packs

It's already been bore scoped, compression & leak down tested.

The IMS situation has kept me on the internet for hours. After speaking to a couple of respected specialists and Yorkshire Classic Porsche the vendor we have decided that it's best left alone. They will have a look make sure there is no oil leak from it and if it looks ok, leave it.

I haven't found anyone with first hand experience of one failing and it appears to me that it has been blown out of all proportion. I guess time will tell but I feel confident in the decision. The other thing is LN seem to recommend replacing their upgraded bearing every 20,000 miles?

C2 - good choice!

LN bearing is certainly not a permanent fix, no.

We plan to keep the car long term. With this in mind I expect the car will need regular maintenance and at some point in our ownership an replacement engine or a rebuild. Hopefully then it will do another 70,000 + miles on the new engine :-)

That Looks lovely.

I went through the same dilemma a few months ago and went for a 2004 C2 Cabriolet with 45k on the clock and an eye watering service history - There is a very sobering invoice from a UK Porsche dealer @ 33k for investigation following recovery that states 'Checked and found metallic rattle from internal to the engine. Removed sump and oil filter and found swarf and big metal pieces. Recommend engine replacement or major rebuild.

It then had a full rebuild at Steve bull a local specialist - all told £21k!

I've not got anything in particular planned yet, but I'm trying to get things booked in! In the short term I think I'm off to Bicester Sunday Scramble at the end of the month. Silverstone Classic looks really fun, I'm definitely going to look into that and see if I can get on board.

That is stunning! Best spec imho.
I’m sure I saw this a while ago at a much higher price hence didn’t pique my interest - have they dropped the price recently or?

I'm not sure on the price. They have had it since January. To be honest it is still all of the money but I love it and hope the support and warranty they offer is worth the premium.
