Real ones are what £290k.
I bet people wished they had a crystal ball in late 90s..

I'm sure if anyone drove Jackals 993 then jumped into a real one they would not be able to tell the difference apart from the price..

Think that I remember Jackal getting the correct ratios fitted and other box mods done. Could be wrong but he certainly was looking at it.

Different spec but visually similar - https://borderreivers.co/portfolio/porsche-scotlan...

I think this car was at JZM a couple of years ago
I wouldn't buy a bag of crisp from Border Reivers...
Looks the same but won't drive the same! There in lies the issue for the proper conversions like this cup engined 993 C2. The engine totally transforms the experience to another level. If someone looking for a 964/993 RS LW instead bought Jackals old car for £80k+ is a comparative steal if you plan on using the thing. I reckon £150k minimum to build from scratch today and I think I'm being conservative.

I priced up a build assuming £45k for the base car and got to £160k so you're not too far off. That's assuming you can get the body kit from Porsche, I believe they are now NLA but I'm not sure of that

From personal experience I'd agree it would probably cost more to build. The real value of this build is what Tony and Paul bring to it. The level of shared knowledge and skills that they bring to a build like this means that the car will not be the normal 'replica'. There are details included in this build that only a true expert would recognise. The cost of those extra details will be substantial but they add up create a genuine recreation.

Have you driven one RC?
One of the biggest differences with a CS is the G50/32 gearbox, with steel syncros and shorter 5th & 6th ratios vs regular RS, it makes a significant difference to how the cars drive. Very noticeable compared to the box in a regular C2.

BarchettaBoys car is a nicely executed 993 it will be a lot of fun for the new owner.
I have not driven a CS no, and I agree with whatb your saying. I'm pretty sure that BarchettaBoys 993 has a RS syncros and is not standard C2 box, its all been done to the highest standard. so thats what I was saying when I said abbot drive the 2 cars back to back

19 people watching the car and 10 days to go ... will be a long wait to see when the bidders come out of the woodwork

car looks very tired, seems odd not to have at least washed it, but it needs a lot of paint work and a full wheel refurb and some trim, I find it odd to not present the car the best it can be, as it makes me and others wonder if simple things were skipped what else has been.

It may be 100% sound but 1st impressions and all that count for a lot and the car looks tired.
Maybe throw another £10k at it :-)

very hard to value these modded cars. As it's worth more standard now days.

Be interesting if it makes reserve or what the seller values it at.

Nice but needs a bit of TLC.
I don't think you understand the ethos of this car. At this mileage it's not meant to be a trinket with perfect paint and no stone chips to be hidden away then sold for profit... or to be a boulevard cruiser. hence it won't appeal to 98% of pistonheads pork forum wink

proper drivers car, surely whoever buys this will drive the snot out of it, who cares about paint work & wheel refurb.

Totally agree.
It's a massive part of the appeal for me.

Easy to say when you are not bidding.

But also very odd to say condition makes no odds and you would pay more, that’s just forums though.

My 3rd pet hate on forums is
“If I had the money, I would buy that” when reality really means no way would they even think of buying it.

Saying that I like the car, and tired is a fair assessment of it on 1st look vs when the org owner built it.

I valued it at £80k and about the only one to post a price on here yet. I also said if a bit of TLC was given it might then be a £100k car.

The good thing about auctions is the buyer will bid what they thinks it’s worth.

I've oft wondered what would happen if cmoose ever got into an internet war with mrdemon, I think it could fuel the world wide web for eternity-like a perpetual motion argu-fuel.

I guess we're about to find out, as Tom Petty sang "I won't back down"...

I will bid, but I likely won't even be able to get to what 911R sees as the value (not because I don't think it is worth it)

Some of the results of past auctions are interesting - shame I did not know about that webpage earlier

Dont get involved with the two warriors, its tiresome.
End of the day its a rep,a good rep worth sensible money if you want such a car,if its expensive spend the money wiser or build your own.
Its not a rs ,as said advertise as a special build thats similar to a cs ,that may attract better funds, remove the rs off the car.
I would buy it at 50ksmile

Opened a beer and put in a bid - so for a short time it looks like I am the highest bidder - money where mouth is and all that
