992 turbo s delivery
Discussion
It's a stunning car, no doubt.
However it does seem the performance envelope is so massive that on-road usage (Autobahn excluded) would be only using a fraction of the car's abilities, and HC touches on that during the Carfection review in an honest and unbiased way.
Some would argue - does that make it pointless?
IMO no it doesn't - knowing this just makes the decision to get one an even more personal choice and the "experience" of having this particular model perhaps becomes more important than "lesser" models in the range, especially so when a regular 992 Carrera is a very fast car and offers way more on-road performance than is useable legally / sensibly anyway.
I personally wouldn't be worrying too much about the unused on-road performance if I was lucky enough to be able to afford / get one. It is very much an "experience" model in my view.
The choice to take it to track is always there after all once it's safely in your possession

TX.
Just seen a 992 Turbo S on the road in Harrogate. Looked great, if a little ostentatious. I paid a £10,000 deposit in July 2018. My dealer has never even contacted me to discuss - I can only assume that I am persona non grata there, or my salesperson is useless.
I'm past pushing and chasing to spend money.
Think I will ask for my deposit back.......

I wouldn't feel to disheartened. Cars are few and far between. Dealers don't even get demos due to CV19. If you have a deposit in. keep it in. I think these may trade above list for next few years with supply being strictly controlled.I'm past pushing and chasing to spend money.

Looks like you can spec one in Germany with a 5 percent discount on list

Or a convertible with 8 percent discount

I'd be a bit miffed if I'd had to pay a 10k deposit and had heard nothing two years later!I'm past pushing and chasing to spend money.

This is the reason I cancelled my order. I would never use the power. I would never take it on track. I would probably lose my license. Will stick with GTS (for now).I think the 992 Turbo S is exactly what was expected. Now, that may not be your cup of tea.

I see Mr JWW has just taken delivery of one of these. I,m really not that keen on them as for this money they look like any other 992 but his one is a really lovely spec i especially like that interior colour as its different.
No he hasn't, he's full of sh!t, that's somebody else's car.Appreciate a few variables so results could be different on a different day, tyres, driver etc etc, but very impressive given the cost and all-round durability/usability of a 911 Turbo compared to the competition

Sadly you have not paid a deposit in Porsche eyes, you have given a OPC £10k to put in their bank that's it, Porsche have no clue you have made a deposit.I'm past pushing and chasing to spend money.

About time this misselling stopped. As these ARE NOT DEPOSITS.

I saw one of these in crayon at VMAX yesterday. Nicest built car there for me. Was to die for. The Mclarens looked very nice too totally the opposite in terms of ultra lightweight build philosophy and construction but equally stunning stole the show for me with this 992 and there were some very nice supercars there. If you're getting this beast you're going to be very happy. I'm sure VMAX will post races between the 720 s and 992 turbo s on their face book page so won't spoil it for you

The 992tts chap is good friend. I only got mine yesterday. I am blown away just how much of step this new one is over the 991.2s, and I don't just mean the power but the chassis and steering also. Feels like a proper GT car now.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
